The phone call was intriguing, but nothing could have prepared me for my first experience of Antara Senior Living; sequestered away from the Dehradun- Mussoorie route in a lush green patch of Purukul, Antara’s 14 acres aim to recreate the feeling of a perfect idyll.

A brainchild of Mrs. Tara Singh Vachani, Antara compliments the natural beauty of the Himalayan foothills with an elegantly constructed community. Internationally renowned architects Perkins Eastman from New York and Esteva Arquitectura of Spain worked to create a space that maintains a balance between architecture and the landscape.

For this is Antara’s purpose – timelessness. Every facet of the community is designed to allow its residents to live life without worries, thinking only of the endless possibilities that await them. Mr. Jishnu Veliyath, the General Manager of Community Operations at Antara Dehradun, is responsible for creating the framework of operations. With his 200-member team, he works tirelessly to execute the Antara Way, which is centered on a genuine spirit of care for its residents.

A considerable amount of time has been spent genuinely thinking about the needs of the residents, For instance, all the bathrooms have thoughtfully positioned handrails and protective anti-skid tiles. All edges have rounded corners to ensure that its older residents don’t get injured. Each room has a panic button which summons medical and security teams in an instant. Trained security officers ensure that only approved visitors are given entry to Antara that has CCTV cameras monitoring the premises. A Max Super Speciality Hospital is just a short drive away.

The Cuisine Spaces
All the produce used in the food is organically grown in the complex itself. The residents can indulge in its specially curated a-la-carte menu. The concept of care extends to the kitchen as well – meals can be customised by the team to meet specific resident requirements.
