Nothing can go wrong with a white shirt style. Period. And the versatility of this silhouette of androgynous style is such that you can flatter yourself wearing it in many different ways. Which is exactly what I experimented with at the Amazon India Fashion Week. Vajor.com happily agreed to be my style partners, sending over a box full of their stylish best and I simply grabbed the opportunity to stylise two looks for 2 days of the fashion week with just one embroidered white shirt from Vajor.com! How did I do it? Taking the star of my OOTDs, a Crispy white Rayon Dobby Embroidered Button Down Shirt from Vajor.com I created to looks that can be worn for a casual day out, a weekend brunch and even a cocktail evening rendezvous. LOOK 1 If you are looking for something comfortable yet structured, then balance the silhouettes well. The focus is on tucking the Embroidered White Shirt under a well fitted pair of denims, button up that collar and bedazzle it with a Turquoise Red Statement Necklace; finishing the look with a printed cover up and some more add-on accessories. This look works great if you are going out for the movies or brunch with besties (Sans the statement necklace) or simply going on a weekend lunch date with your beau. Adding colourful elements to match the shirt brings out the summer feel and makes the overall look more vibrant to the eyes. Speaking about the Beige & Mint Green Shrug from Vajor’s EARTHY QUIRK collection, the fit comes absolutely flawless, the earthy colour tones give a more soothing appeal and the Rayon Crepe fabric lets the body breathe even when worn for an entire day. The shrug comes with a tassled waist-ribbon to give more structure to the cover-up, but I …

Androgyny with Suit Fullstop

February 17, 2017

I am always fascinated by the structured make of a double-breasted ebony tuxedo. What really makes and breaks a formal suit is its stitch and fit. If the crease is too fitted or the stitch too elaborately done, it gives off the mannerism a formal suit demands, making the wearer look unfit and out of form. I might be a female, but I am one of those females who absolutely adorn befriending the Androgyny ways of style. Speaking about which, I have tried many a times to meet a brand or boutique that can magnify the feminine silhouette of me, while keeping up with the manly element of a tuxedo. Until now, I have been doped by many local boutiques who have failed in producing a suit that matches my expectations. Suit Fullstop is an e-commerce label that excels in every aspect of suiting up. Although it is a men’s trendsetting brand, the team did listen to my request on stitching up a tuxedo that really reflects my identity and gives me a great fit. So in case you’ve been wondering how an e-commerce boutique match your requirement of a designer formal suit, then you’ll be overwhelmed to know that the label does a fantastic job in delivering what we ask for. Worth mentioning that they have some physical stores in the country, established, as well! And to make the experience more unique and personal, Suit Fullstop offers ready-to-wear as well as customised formal suits to its customers. How does it work? Not only do they offer altering post delivery, their returns are easy to follow as well. But given their dedication towards delivering customisation that is up to the mark, their sure are any chances of needing any of the edits. Did I mention that they offer ‘Renting’ facility …

November 16, 2016
india-meets-india_header

How many times do we come across overly-hyped handloom products in the market and complain about the fact that the sellers scrape out a big chunk of the production unit’s earnings, leaving the workers struggling to meet the ends? It’s not like we don’t try to look out for first hand purchases, but it often becomes difficult to meet the craftsmen, given their geographic locations. Keeping up with the national trend of the decade ‘Make In India’ and encouraging the consumers to do something for the needful not with charity, but with empowerment, INDIA MEETS INDIA is a collaborative that brings consumers and craftsmen together on one platform. Not only does this online portal tap into local regions across the nation to bring forward regional craftsmanship, but also engages with many NGOs to provide a livelihood to the families. Inspired by global fashion, JOHN PLAYERS JEANS has introduced denim styles that will ante up a man’s style, effortlessly. With elements of colours like coral orange, gold moss, sour green and deep teal against Indigo Denims, the contrast can be tagged along as the coolest take on this rich menswear trend. So what can you expect from JOHN PLAYERS JEANS AW 2016 Collection? Patch on/off over embellishments, raw, distressed, laser printed and bleached impacts on denims that widely takes over the line. Hint of Scottish checks and Deep Navys can also be seen on some of the designs. We, the bloggers, too tried our hands on Patch-mixing techniques and splatter techniques to bring a fresh change of style to regular denims for men. The one thing that I personally derived out of this collection is the fact that their is a lot that can be experimented with with basic menswear trends; internationally and nationally. With John Players Jeans AW 2016 line I definitely look up to a fresh change in the way how men perceive style. Nazar by Indu Abbot | PUNE OOTD

Nazar by Indu Abbot_1

Their is something about the Indian silhouettes that brings out the beautiful-best in every woman. The grace by which each fabric is sewn to create an ensemble so enchanting, that you expect nothing but a sophisticated royal rendezvous with your inner self. With that, if you amalgamate the decades worth of experience of an artist, the results are no less than a fairytale in itself! So when I got the tickets booked for a week long experiential to Pune, I had to pack something royal for a lookbook shoot on the ruins of once extravagant ‘Shanirwar Wada’. Truth be told, I got intrigued by the whole story of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and my inner Deepika Padukone screamed for a feature, while I was busy hopping properties and testing wine at Four Seasons Baramati (features coming up). And this is when I was introduced to the world of ‘Nazar’ a fashion label by veteran designer Ms. Indu Abbot; who started her journey in the year 1990. The experience of a designer is well proven by the fact that they know their customer’s requirement and what will compliment them right from the first look itself. So much so, that Ms. Indu was able to hand-pick this beautiful Anarkali from her latest collection, even when I wasn’t able to visit her studio at Patel Nagar (Delhi) since I was having a time crunch and had to take a flight in no more than 12 hours time. The golden gota-patti work, breath-easy fabric, voluminous yet settling silhouette and the oh-so-beautiful Sharara definitely stole my heart away. Not going to deny the fact that quite a few people complimented my look while I was trying to find a spot on a busy Sunday (that place is crowded all week long) to get clicked. What I really liked about this …

Powdered Formal | SUE MUE

May 10, 2016
Semi Formal With Sue Mue

Being geeky and chic is no rocket science. While I have heard my friends cribbing over wearing shades of grey under the ‘formals’ category, I’d like to differ from the module that many of us follow for a daily routine check. Of course many MNC’s tend to have strict colour codes to be worn to work (my sincere sympathy with you), others who happen to have the liberty of playing around with the colour palettes yet maintain a formal silhouette can work wonders with their ‘serious look’.

Beautiful Is Powerful By Khanna Jewellers

March 22, 2016
beautiful is powerful 1

The one thing that I absolutely love about the marriage season is getting dressed up! With the kind of indo-western influence that has weaved up in our traditional ways of ‘ethnic dressing’ the game has anted up many folds. Right from wrapping up a dhoti-saree ensemble to bringing in the vintage Sabyasachi silhouettes, I just can’t get enough of experimenting with the apparel traditions for every family function. Now experimentation can be a big hit or a faux-pas, but one element of the entire dressing game keeps everything in sanity – The Jewels. For my daily dress up, I prefer keeping a minimalist approach and opt for jewels that are sublime in nature. But when it comes to dressing up for a family gathering, I just can’t do without making a statement. Even in that case, my preference is wearing something which is exclusive, rich in elements and yet makes me look young and fresh! Khanna Jewellers have come up with an exclusive range of royal ornaments that tend to make you look like a contemporary queen. If you too follow the likes of Sonam Kapoor (like me) and are in awe of how flawlessly she carries traditional jewels in a refreshingly modern avatar, then you are definitely going to fall for this range of jewels by Khanna Jewelers. My Experience When I got a chance to visit their store at South Extension, Delhi and try out some of their signature designs; I was definitely left spellbound by the beauty of the craftsmanship and the whole concept ideation upon each piece of the jewel. One can definitely feel more beautiful and powerful by simply adorning one of their Polki necklaces. What I really loved about the collection is its sophisticated design. Each peace emphasizes on the placement of the precious …
