October 26, 2014
IMG_2336a.jpg

The grand finale of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was no less than a Mughal – carnival in itself. Before I take you through my photo – gallery, wanted to share a big woot with you.  One of my photographs that I took of Arjun Rampal (Rohit Bal’s show stopper for the finale) got retweeted by none other than the actor himself and has received more than 35,000+ hits till now.  About the Collection The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Rohit Bal concluded the Spring Summer 2015 edition of India’s premiere fashion & trade event – Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. It was a magical evening as        Quli Khan’s Tomb with Qutub Minar as its backdrop came alive with this magnificent show. Rohit Bal’s ‘GULBAGH’, inspired by the rich and lush Mughal Gardens of Kashmir, is a tribute to the God-gifted and unparalleled beauty of the valley. Mesmerizing the audience, through a visual and musical spectacle, the event recreated the erstwhile court of the Mughals through flowers and live music. With guests entering to live sufi music, the show began with the resounding voice of the internationally acclaimed doyen of Indian classical music – Shubha Mudgal. While she sang, the models walked the ramp, adorned with flowers.   Arjun Rampal Christian Louboutin Follow Me Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Youtube | Pinterest

‘RANI’ For the Indian Bride by NIkasha – Preview

September 4, 2014

Nikasha speaks about being dedicate and pretty with this collection, inspired by the landscape of traditional and rare color combination, with interplay of precious embroidery and archived romantic prints including the jasmine bud, cherry blossoms and Siuli. This is a well curated selection of all the elements a soon to be married girl would desire to keep in her coterie, which ranges from lighter to heavier embroidered silhouettes. The collection has an inherent joie de vivre in a vibrant and festive mood for the bride and her trousseau. The collection will be on display for the next one week at Ensemble, DLF Emporio Delhi.  Personal opinion : The colors are fresh and girly, making it the right color palette for a young bride. The embroidery is perfectly apt for the occasion and is light on the wearer. The silhouettes and fit (can be customized too) will perfectly compliment your body type. Indo – western looks with Peplum tops, Shararas, Dhotis and Anarkalis steal the limelight. Price range is not too much for the product that we are getting in return.  Follow : Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Youtube | Pinterest

WIFW SS’14 – Pia Pauro | Shivan & Narresh

November 6, 2013
55.jpg

PIA PAURO | AKAARO Press note :  Transpired into aesthetics at the exotic beaches of Zanzibar and inspired by Pia’s travel through Tanzania and her time spent with the Masai’s at their village. ‘Zanzibar’ is a reflection of the vast african landscapes, the wildlife and the people of Africa. The collection has fabrics like crepe, sil georgette and cottons with the perfect match of ease and luxe to it. SHIVAN & NARRESH | FONTANA Press note :  The soft brutality of slashed & stabbed canvases of Lucio Fontana expose an artistic dimension often remembered – the Negative. Embodying the spatial canvases in monochromes coupled with lemon tints in brazen resortwear, the ensembles emphasize the subtle seduction of the skin. The swimwear returns this season, bolder, with lacerated signature maillots, bikinis & trikinis.  Check out the entire ‘Picture Diary‘ for Wills India Fashion Week SS’14.

While Gaurav J Gupta played the undertones of blue, brown and black; keeping the silhouettes neat and a subtle approach, Promita Banerjee infused in the pop yet earthy hues of red, green, yellow and neutrals. GAURAV JAI GUPTA | AKAARO Press note :  Spring summer 14 draws visual references from the religious habit (dress) of “Missionary at Charity” order and portrait at an old women by Hans Memling. Clothes being social psychological aspect of appearance; the blue (color of virgin mary) stripe which is an integral part of the cotton saree of the sisters of the order. Washed out Cotton Silks with crushed jacquards in blacks and stainless steel are used in easy separates. Hand woven enirely at akaaro studios in Delhi with natural yarns the collection is a symbolic transition from chaos to calmness. PAROMITA BANERJEE | SAFED RANG Press note :  The collection is all about presenting a rooted India to the audience. An India where the finest of fabrics are cottons and Khadi, handwoven on looms; and they can be shaped into any silhouette of choice. The designer has chosen the ethno-contemporary path; where the fabrics and textiles remind you of India but in a very global context.  Check out the entire ‘Picture Diary‘ for Wills India Fashion Week SS’14.
