March 18, 2019
Source: fashionlady

The festival of colours is merely a few days away and I am absolutely ecstatic, not only because Holi happens to be one of my favourite festivals, but it also marks the end of the wintery feels and welcomes to wonders that spring brings with it. I cannot think of a more better festival to complement the chirpiness and the colourful atmosphere during this season, and to add to the festivities, why not be our quirkiest best? Here are a few fusion-wear pieces that you really ought to have in your wardrobe this time around! The Long Skirt: Source: pinimg        The long skirt can never go out of trend come what may! Be it a beautifully western skirt with a  wonderful silhouette, or a brilliantly embellished skirt with an amazing flare, there is literally no comparison of the grace that a long skirt lends to the wearer. During the festival of Holi however, ditch the silhouetted long western skirt, and opt for the solid coloured skirt with the zari border or even an embellished skirt. The best part about such a skirt is that you can pair it with any kind of ethnic top-wear like a kurti or a long kurta with slits on the side. Super comfy and easy to move around in, skirts are perfect for this beautiful festival. Jacket It Up: Source: ytimg It goes without saying that if we are talking about the festival of colours, one or two of the said colours, in some way or the other, will make their way on your outfit! If you are someone who is conscious about the visibility of these colours, then a jacket is your best, and most stylish bet, without a doubt! The combination of a long kurta with a long ethnic jacket can be a …

One can easily wear tie and dyes in both bright and pastel colours and never go wrong with it! From tie and dye tees all the way to dresses, or even those amazing rainbow tie and dyed jackets, this is one amazing print to include in your wardrobe for sure. Paisley Source: cloudfront Wanderlust calling you? Well then, paisleys should definitely be an addition to your wardrobe this year! Usually associated with beautiful and exotic locales, the basic and very first paisley print comes from Persian artwork. Paisley prints work great with literally anything and everything. Be it on jackets and trousers, or even swimsuits and dresses, there is nothing that paisley does not look good on. Trust me when I tell you that paisley will be a brilliant way to add colour and beautiful patterns to your 2019 wardrobe. 5 Unconventional yet Festive Colours to substitute for Red on Xmas Looks

December 25, 2018
bloximages

I absolutely love dressing up according to the festive season and Christmas is no exception or me. Christmas is such a nostalgic time where the carols and the smell of cinnamon in the air remind me of the amazing childhood celebrations we all used to have during the festive season. However, as we grew older, we learnt new ways to celebrate the festival and that includes dressing up for the occasion. Though red might be synonymous with the festival of Christmas, I thought why not go a different way and use a few other colours to bring out the festivity in the season? 1. Marsala: Image source: squarespace Did you know that in the year 2014, Marsala was pronounced Pantone’s colour of the year? Well, justifiably so! This beautifully earthy tone which has a certain robustness to it, is definitely one of my favourites without a doubt. Despite the fact that marsala was pronounced the Colour of the Year 4 years back, to this day it holds its ground as a tough competitor when compared to other worthy opponents, a few of which I will be listing here for sure! 2. Amber: Image source: stylecraze It is so fascinating to learn new things each and every day! Did you know that the colour Amber happens to fall exactly between yellow and orange in the colour wheel, because I sure did not! But one thing I know for sure, that I am absolutely in love with the brightness and the earthiness of this colour too. The great thing about colours such as these, is that they suit every skin tone beautifully. From an overcoat to a pair of trousers or a billowy dress, use this colour without hesitation and you will be rewarded with many admiring looks for sure. 3. Rose …

December 17, 2018
Ethical Elephant

It has been going in for quite a long time now that animals have been used an abused in the fashion industry, whether it is to make leather or fur based outfits. However, the good news is that a lot of fashion forwards and forward-thinking fashion labels have decided to call it quits with animal cruelty and do their bit in helping the voiceless beings. With the news of a high-end fashion label announcing that they are going fur-free or leather-free, almost every other month, it has now become quite fashionable to go cruelty-free. Stella McCartney: Image source: heritadolcevita Stella McCartney might perhaps be the most animal-friendly high-end fashion brand that you could ever come across. Stella McCartney herself has been an animal advocate and a huge PETA supporter for a long time, so it goes without saying that her label would also reflect her ideas in the most effective manner. She has vowed to steer clear of using both fur and leather and has made sure that she only uses responsible and animal-friendly materials. Apart from all this, she has also been the voice of reason all through and promotes the idea of a animal-friendly fashion industry to her fellow designers and shoppers alike. Vivienne Westwood: Image source: vogue For Vivienne Westwood, being a long-term vegetarian that she was, using fur in her designs did not seem to be doing her vision justice. So, after being made aware by PETA, about the cruelty that the animals are subjected to in the fur industry, Westwood decided to renounce the use of fur in her designs too. Now like many of the other designers, she has switched to using faux fur in her designs. Tommy Hilfiger: Image source: goodsearch Tommy Hilfiger might perhaps be one of the most popular international …

The young designers showed their prowess by creating exquisite costumes to convey body-positivity movements and gender aesthetics through it. Rajul Goldar brought our attention to environment-friendly fabrics that do not involve shedding of trees. He is spearheading a movement to bring about the face of forests on ramp along with promoting the use of non-cellulosic fabrics. Style Partners – Tacfab Fashions

October 31, 2017
TacFab_Delh5

Fashion Weeks are those two weeks in a year when the fashion enthusiasts get into their best of attires, strutting their way through the crowd of those who cheer tassels and bomber jackets more than an elementary chaos of monochrome mundaneness that otherwise consumes us all. While we all wish to be in our best of attires 365 days of the month, these few select days are when we give in our 100% to look the best versions of ourselves. Keeping up with the requirements, and given the 2nd yearly season of the fashion week commences during the Indian festive season, I collaborated with Tacfab Fashions to be my style partners for one of the days of the fashion week. Tacfab Fashions Pvt. Ltd. operates under the parent company, Sahib Textiles, which is a 65 years old textiles house. They are into wholesale dress material and fabric manufacturing business since 1947. Tacfab specialises in ready-to-stitch, salwar kameez sets and dress material fabrics that infuse the latest trends with the ethnic silhouettes flawlessly. After spending an hour with the brilliant team of Tacfab Kamla Nagar and trying out an array of dresses, anarkalis, pakistani palazzo-kurti sets and some really amazing off-the-runway fusion dresses, I picked up this really vibrant Anarkali to wear to the fashion week. Their are so many things that I loved about this look. 1stly, the ombre dye-design of the Anarkali definitely anted up the design quotient manifolds. The fitting was absolutely complimenting around the torso with a voluminous skirt falling below the waist to floor lengths for added drama. The side slit of the Anarkali made me feel like the Indian Angelina Jolie at times (no kidding) while the hassled and embellished dupatta turned out to be the star of the overall look. The best part about …

Summer Dress Affair with VAJOR

April 17, 2017
Vajor Dress_1

Summer Street Style essentials consist of cool colour palettes, comfortable silhouettes and Bohemian or Kitschy styles! While I adore the latter, my vibes are always strong towards a Bohemian take on summer trends. Their is something about the Rastafarian trend that makes it worth styling up season after season. And that’s the reason why I have partnered with Vajor.com, yet again, to bring about a ‘Street style OOTD’ that speaks volumes about the Boho style with just the right electric zest of Afghani accessories and comfort of tennis shoes for the woman of free spirit. I did another version of Summer Street Style with Vajor.com recently, when I wore a white embroidered shirt from their latest catalogue at the Amazon India Fashion Week. That was the first time I wore something from Vajor.com and absolutely fell in love with the brand. Not only do they use finest of the fabrics and the trendiest of designs, the fit is so comfortable yet complimenting, that even plus size women can flaunt Vajor designs with elan! Speaking about the dress that I am wearing in this OOTD, it’s White & Grey Embroidered Dress that is apt for a comfortable day out. The fabric used is Printed Rayon Twill with Modal lining. For a finer fit, the dress comes with a back zipper and A-Line fit. What I really liked about the silhouette was the boat neck style that complimented my face and statement earrings well. The fit is great, silhouettes comfortable, structured to fit the needs, subtle embroidery with marble faux stone embellishments for added drama and a colour palette mix of white and grey that suits the otherwise hot weather of Northern India. The dress also comes with a Tie-up Braided waist belt which I didn’t use to celebrate the free-flowing yet structured …

Vajor_OOTD1_7

Nothing can go wrong with a white shirt style. Period. And the versatility of this silhouette of androgynous style is such that you can flatter yourself wearing it in many different ways. Which is exactly what I experimented with at the Amazon India Fashion Week. Vajor.com happily agreed to be my style partners, sending over a box full of their stylish best and I simply grabbed the opportunity to stylise two looks for 2 days of the fashion week with just one embroidered white shirt from Vajor.com! How did I do it? Taking the star of my OOTDs, a Crispy white Rayon Dobby Embroidered Button Down Shirt from Vajor.com I created to looks that can be worn for a casual day out, a weekend brunch and even a cocktail evening rendezvous. LOOK 1 If you are looking for something comfortable yet structured, then balance the silhouettes well. The focus is on tucking the Embroidered White Shirt under a well fitted pair of denims, button up that collar and bedazzle it with a Turquoise Red Statement Necklace; finishing the look with a printed cover up and some more add-on accessories. This look works great if you are going out for the movies or brunch with besties (Sans the statement necklace) or simply going on a weekend lunch date with your beau. Adding colourful elements to match the shirt brings out the summer feel and makes the overall look more vibrant to the eyes. Speaking about the Beige & Mint Green Shrug from Vajor’s EARTHY QUIRK collection, the fit comes absolutely flawless, the earthy colour tones give a more soothing appeal and the Rayon Crepe fabric lets the body breathe even when worn for an entire day. The shrug comes with a tassled waist-ribbon to give more structure to the cover-up, but I …
