This post is dedicated to the ‘Poonawalahs’ or the travellers who often travel or are soon travelling to Pune. But you’ll be surprised to know that DoubleTree by Hilton Pune Chinchwad actually has dedicated ample square feet to give space to ‘MIYUKI JAPANESE RESTAURANT'; their authentic Japanese restaurant. Now if you are wondering why Pune has an authentic Japanese restaurant, then I must remind you that the city is abode to many automobile companies from across the globe, of which, a major portion goes to the Asian partners visiting the city quite often. To give them the flavours of their hometown, DoubleTree by Hilton Pune Chinchwad proudly promotes MIYUKI as their standalone Japanese restaurant in Pune city. It’s not just in the food, but the decor of the place, a private dining space with authentic Japanese cutlery being imported from the mainland and a dedicated Chef storming up some authentic Japanese flavours on the Teppan grill that makes the entire experience quite unique. If you are well aware of the Japanese cuisine and dining culture, then you’ll definitely find the setup quite authentic. Four Seasons Wines – VINTNER’S RESERVE

August 8, 2016
Four Seasons Wines Limited Baramati Pune

As a blogger, I get to attend a lot of launch events. Most of them are about attending a soiree, meeting people, the brand speakers share their insight on the launch, the launch officially takes place amidst paparazzi and we bloggers spread the word across. This norm is a general protocol that’s quite a regular experience for us. And then their are brands who believe in perfection, who believe in the power of getting their brand value right in front of the people who matter. So when FOUR SEASONS WINES LTD. invited me to travel all the way to Baramati (Roti) for their Limited Edition launch, I couldn’t anticipate anything less of an extravaganza; and boy was I right! Baramati is a small city and a district of Pune, which is approximately 2.5 hours away from the main city. Many parts of Maharashtra are blessed with the soil and climatic conditions apt for vineyard farming which is where Four Seasons Wines Limited cultivates, produces and preserves some of the finest wines of India. The richness of the wines produced by Four Seasons can very well be derived from the vast knowledge that Mr. Abhay Kewadkar, the Director and Chief Winemake of Four Seasons Wines specialises in. His expertise in everything to do with wine was something that stayed with us media personals, throughout our experiential at Four Seasons Baramati (Roti) Pune. The extravaganza was a 2 day affair with some of the bloggers, leading wine experts of India and journalists being flown down to Pune on 15th July, 2016. As I boarded my Delhi – Pune flight, all I could think of was the beautiful mansion that I’d seen in pictures overlooking the vineywards, the beautiful countryside of Pune and of course, the fragrance of freshly produced wine in the air. The moment we …

Trip To The Sula Vineyards, Nashik

July 14, 2016
Sula Vineyards_Tour1

So you think that only French and Italians excel in the art of wine making? Well, if you are an Indian and love sipping some fine wine & cheese over a tête-à-tête, then a trip to Nashik is what you need! Sula is considered to be one of the best wine makers in the country as they produce French Sauvignon Blanc & Californian Chenin Blanc; which were planted and produced first by Sula in 1997. Sula Vineyards founder Mr. Rajeev Samant took up the challenge of transforming barren lands of Nashik into wine farming stations. Sula Vineyards was officially established by Mr. Samant and Mr. Kerry Damskey, who happens to be an eminent Californian winemaker. The 30 acre family estate has since then come a long way from being a barren property to a fully functional grapes farming and wine producing facility. Not only do they have a concrete wine production facility & wine cellars, but the property also offers a destination restaurant, wine tasting and wine production tour for its guests. While December – Early February is considered as the grapes harvesting and wine producing time at Sula Vineyards, the month of July to early August is marked as the time of celebrating wine over picturesque view of Nashik’s mountain terrain and the monsoon season. Families and youngsters often travel down to Nashik during this period to celebrate the romantic rainy season with some wine and hors d’oeuvres! Me, along with a couple of other influences of India were invited over by SULA team for a grand experiential of the SULA Vineyards. As we transitioned from the humid Mumbai monsoon weather to the cloudy atmosphere of Nashik, all that we could think of was the experience that awaited us. If you google up www.sulawines.com, you will be redirected to the …

Janpath Grill House Delhi {Menu Review}

June 7, 2016
Janpath Grill House Delhi

You will find plenty of restaurants in Delhi that are swearing by the futuristic ‘Gastronomy’ skills for their menu, or those who are trying to be either severely retro or absolutely quirky to catch attention. We foodies are loving all the attention and surely don’t mind opting for a Butter Chicken Pizza over the traditional Butter Chicken-Naan combo. But if you are a true delight and would like to re-live your childhood days, then Janpath Grill House Delhi is the place to be at! Gather along all your Delhi folks and visit this nostalgic hub of everything to do with Delhi food. Be it the street chats of the narrow Old Delhi Lanes, or Rajinder Da Dhaba style grilled chicken tikkas, Janpath Grill House is serving it all in its most authentic flavours; under one roof. Situated in the heart of Delhi, and right across the buzzing shops of Janpath Thrift Market, this newly opened restaurant offers the traditional flavours of Delhi cuisine with a twist of molecular presentation. THE FOOD Following a buffet system for all 7 days of the week, the restaurant offers both lunch and dinner. One gets to dine in with a variety of grill tikkas which are placed on a live BBQ station right in the middle of the table. This comes complimentary with a few mocktails that have all been designed keeping in mind the chatpata taste buds of Delhiites. The meal deal begins with a nitrogen-smoked cup of chilled Frayms as Amuse-Bouche, that instantly reminded me of my school days when snacking over these was a better deal than spending Rs.10 on a pack of Lays. This ritual is taken forward with the server lining up the grilled seekhs of your choice. We tried on a combination of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian grills like …

Aire The Sky Bar Crowne Plaza Jaipur {Review}

May 24, 2016
Aire Jaipur

You must have already read our review of the House of Han by Crowne Plaza Jaipur. This article is a first hand review of Aire the Sky Bar Crowne Plaza Jaipur which is nothing like your regular sundowner decks! Situated right in the middle of the Crowne Plaza Property, it has been designed next to the elevated swimming pool area, which provides a more intimate dining experience overall. Keeping the surroundings open air, with room for natural breeze and a relaxed lounge seating area, Aire the Sky Bar is definitely a breezy experience. To top it up, the bar also offers a live grill and a live evening musical performance by their encore singers; every evening. You name it and Crowne Plaza has pledged to serve it! Right from the seating arrangements, the dim-lit setup to the freshly brewed alcoholic concoctions that their in-house bartender offers, once can definitely look forward to an evening full of spirits (literally). During match days, Aire the Sky Bar Crowne Plaza Jaipur also proudly installs a projector, that entitles the diners to keep a tab on the cricket scores while they snack on some hot-out-of-the-grill delicacies. The Drinks While their bartender is definitely skilled with the universal cocktails like LIIT, Margarita, Mojito, Cosmopolitan and the Apple Martini; one can definitely feel that the menu is incomplete without their ‘signature cocktails’ section which often Hospitality groups boast about! But, for those who know their drinks right, it won’t be a disappointment as the bar do offers a wide variety of rich Single Malts, Blended Scotches, Tennessee, Cognac, Rum and the global menu of Wines, Beers and Vodkas. They serve finest drinks available like Villa Fassini Cabernet Shiraz and Norton Bodega that won’t disappoint your appetite to tantalise your taste buds with nothing but the best. THE FOOD One platter …

Niche Lounge & Bistro – Delhi {Menu Review}

May 16, 2016
Niche Restaurant Food Review10

Now for those who have been following my blog, will definitely be aware about my experience dining at Niche Bar & Lounge for its ‘Pre-Launch’ Blogger’s table. If you haven’t, then go ahead and check it out! Having been reviewed some of their best preparations, we were more keen on exploring what their regular menu has to offer too. And before going for the review, we definitely scrolled through the zomato reviews and what people highly recommended to try on. To my surprise, it wasn’t non-vegetarian nor was it a gourmet amalgamation. Known as the ‘Pulled Katahal Tacos’ on the menu, this Mexican mix with a vegetable not generally loved (and experimented with) much in the country was nothing less of a surprise. For a slider to go with their array of alcoholic concoctions, Pulled Katahal Tacos definitely faired well on the taste and nibbling metre. So for vegetarians who always end up ordering regular veggie kebabs and paneer tikkas to go with their drinks, this one can be called a gourmet substitute for your vegan requirements. The Tacos are filled with Katahal well cooked which is drenched in a juicy tangy sauce with a zing of sweetness and a sour curd dip and salsa to go on the side. Of course, we did order a portion of chicken and a prawns starter from their seafood menu. In chicken, we ordered the Lal Mirch Ka Chicken Tikka, which although sounds spicy; wasn’t spicy at all. In fact, the flavours of the marination combined with the smokiness of the grill and tenderness of the chicken pieces turned out to be one of the finest Chicken Tikka preparations I’ve had in a long while. The tikka was presented with some freshly grounded mint cloud and nitro cooked onion yoghurt chutney on the side. Being a …

Serenade WelcomHotel Bella Vista, Panchkula

April 27, 2016
Serenade_Breakfast Spread 7

Serenade is an all-day dining restaurant by WelcomHotel Bella Vista, an ITC Group property. While I have already covered the entire property coverage on my Youtube channel, I had to invest in an exclusive blog article featuring just the food that Bella Vista has to offer. Situated right next to the Panchkula – Chandigarh roadway, Serenade WelcomHotel Bella Vista is no less than a food paradise amidst the scenic beauty of Shivalik Mountain range and the European architecture of the property itself. The first time you sit down for a meal at Serenade, you will definitely expect the typical Punjab-Haryana flavours to tantalize your taste buds. Not to forget the expectations of having a big chunk of the menu devoted to the non-vegetarian cuisines. Flavours of the Region Well, I had a similar perspective as I sat down with Mr. Avinash Deshmukh, the General Manager of Bella Vista; while I quitely anticipated the meals to follow up. Chef Manohar welcomed by presenting the first meal to speak about the ‘Flavours of the Region’. The course commenced with tender and flavoursome servings of Amritsari Fish that was tandoored to perfection. Next up, was ‘Tamatar Aur Dhania Ka Shorba’ which in a lay-man’s world is termed as a basic tomato soup; although the smoky and tangy flavours of this soup were definitely rich and content. For main course I had Murgh Mumtaz (Butter Chicken) and I have to admit that this is one of the best Butter Chicken preparations that I’ve had in a really long time. The king curry was supplemented with Subz Panchmel (seasoned vegetables cooked with onion and tomatoes), the traditional Dal Maharani and an array of tandoori naans. The meal was concluded with a generous serving of Gulab Jamun with their homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. Now, for a standard …

House Of Han, Jaipur

April 2, 2016
House of Han Entrance

The biggest stereotype associated with Rajasthan and all of its tourist destinations is – leather, Lal Maas, folk music and rustic historical lanes. Now for most of the parts it is a true story, with absolutely no denying the belief in venturing the local lifestyle rather than feeding self to the commercial offerings; their is no harm in being experimental a little. And with cultural cities like Jaipur, the traditional norms come in mandatory with onion kachoris, lassi and Chauki Dhaani tours a must! Now if you are in the ‘Pink City’ and crave for some authentic Chinese food, where to head on to? Right on the Tonk Road, closest to the Jaipur International Airport, we have Crowne Plaza’s newest Check-in property with its star Chinese restaurant named the ‘House of Han’. Intricately designed with the authentic wisdom of Sichuan cuisine, House of Han offers an array of Chinese delicacies. From tender pork chops, fish dressings to offering quintessential sea food platters; the restaurant excels in a variety of meats and organic vegetables preprepared to excellence! The menu has been with an inclusion of various regional local cuisines of China. Chef Jinhong Luo has crafted a kitchen serving Mongolian, Sichuan, Cantonese and Hunan delicacies. Keeping in mind the heat levels that Indian taste buds can take, they have definitely altered the spices used; but that has not deterred the flavours nor has the level of sweetness gone up to disguise the authentic taste. Respecting the norms with the Oriental décor of the restaurant, Crowne Plaza’s team have put in special efforts in reflecting the regional ambience in every possible aspect. The cutlery, crockery, Mongolian griddle table and woodwork of House of Han has been specially imported from the mainland China; for keeping up with their authenticity. The restaurant has four private dining areas, with …
