Think ‘Smokey Eyes’ is the trend of ‘Modern Times’? Well, let me rephrase it for you. Think Indian women have always and have only been capable of just excelling the art of kohl-manship? It’s time to take references from the Era gone by, because the trendsetters from as early as the 1940s till date have taken their eyeliner trends quite seriously. Presenting to you a list of our Famous Bollywood Actresses And Eyeliner Trends 1940-2016. 1940s Suraiya One of the first actresses and highest paid performer of the Indian cinema was Suraiya Jamaal Sheikh, popularly known as ‘Suraiya’. Not just on-screen, but Suraiya loved keeping her make up and fashion style on check at all times as well. 1940s was the era of femininity and minimalism, as far as makeup was concerned. But even in such times of limited beauty products, Suraiya managed to adorn ‘Soft Smokey’ eyeliner style with a prominent flicked eyeliner, smudged to perfection. Madhubala Hello Classic Bar! Bollywood’s very own Madonna, a.k.a. Madhubala was surely an enchantress. Her beauty is still praised about and her natural and muted make up swayed many a hearts away. No fuss Classic Bar eyeliner style was Madhubala’s all time go-show trend. A fine eyeline coating across the lash, slightly thickining up towards the edge. 1950s Meena Kumari The ‘Pakeeza’ actress was all about royalty, glitter and dramatic personal style. This not only reflected on her clothing, but the make up as well. If 1940s was all about minimalism, then 1950S was definitely a flip-side to the muted trends. Meena Kumari’s eyes spoke volumes with her Winged Eyeliner style stretched up till the edge of the brow. Waheeda Rehman The era also saw Waheeda Rehman Guide-ing the masses how to look less dramatic and still make a mesmerising statement. Playing a …

In the backdrop of increasing number of commercial shopping malls in Delhi NCR, what we now need to look out for are those malls offering quality. Mall Of India is the first new destination mall promising a Maha Kumbh of International as well as exclusive Indian premium brands under one roof and on the same floor. To exhibit the excellent garment collection available in the mall, they organized a high street fashion show “Celebrating What India Wears”. The show stopper for the show was none other than the graceful Aditi Rao Hyadri.   Since I live only 10 minutes away from Noida, I am extremely elated with this new addition in Sector-18 and have already visited it a number of times! Mall Of India brings to you the convenience of shopping in the finest of brands of India on the same floor. In fact, the race track atrium gives amazing visibility to all to all the stores we do not run out of any options. It is like a mini-mall in itself in the great Mall of India. Spread on a whopping 2 million sq ft retail space, MoI is all set to redefine how retail is perceived in India by bringing the unique concept of ‘zoning’ for the first time here. The mall has 6 customized levels like the International boulevard on ground and first floors, their flagship Indian high street section on the second, Family World on the third level, and Leisure Land on fourth and fifth floors. The lower ground level is a market place to be frequented for shopping in hyper market in home furnishing centres. Now coming to the grand array of designers at the MoI – I can briefly sum it up as simply awe-inspiring. …

Keep Calm and Take a #Selfie

April 8, 2014
Kareena1.jpg

Anybody and everybody who is on the social network knows what a #selfie is! Not just that, but each one of us has been a *victim* of taking selfies. Yeah! Victim. Because now, taking our own pic(s) innumberable times in an hour-day-week-month has been *diagnosed* as a syndrome. Don’t believe me? Just google up ‘Selfie Syndrome’ and learn for yourself.  But heck! Will we stop taking selfies? What will our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vine, etc….. feeds update then? A *sheepish* NAAAAAAH! Recently, this syndrome got bigger and maybe better. In January, Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie with stars like Angelina Jolie, Meryl Streep and Jared Leto became famous world wide. It was every-friggin-where on the news and of course our social network.  This *Group Selfie* bug soon found it’s way into Bollywood. Don’t believe me? Let’s check out some examples, shall we? #GroupSelfie the #BOLLYWOOD style Kunal Kohli | Mandira Bedi | Shahrukh Khan  Shahrukh was quick enough to arrange a selfie next. Although this one was not that big a ‘celebrity’ selfie, but oh well SRK covered it all. I wonder what’s with his catty eyes?  Kalki Koechlin | Koel Purie | Deepika Padukone The pouts never suffice. Sigh! Sonakshi Sinha | Tanisha Mukherjee | Kajol | Jaya Bachchan  Now this one came in as a surprise. Never seen these four ladies together ever, and look how happy they look in this photo. Selfie a friendship bond-er eh? VJ Andy | Karan Johar | Kirron Kher | Malaika Arora Khan | Bharti  Singh | Amitabh Bachchan If Jaya Bachchan can do it, why will Amitabh Bachchan stay behind? Even if it means posing at the finale of a reality tv program.  Preity Zinta | Rani Mukherjee | Manish Arora | Urmila Matondkar The old (accept it now!) beauties of Bollywood. Sigh! Nargis Fakhri …
