What To Expect From Gillette Venus Razor?

Gillette Venus Experience_Kalapalette4

After spending an entire month (and a few extra days) trying out Gillette Venus for a smooth hair-free skin, I can confidently say that it’s been a smoother ride ever since! I haven’t touched the sticky wax neither have booked an appointment to get waxed ever since. For all those who have been following my blog, I have already shared a detailed blog post on my Experience of #SubscribeToSmooth challenge.  But then their are certain things that I wanted to point out when you plan on switching or at least trying Razor over your regular waxing experience. Razors For Beginners 1. Always invest in a razor which is meant for a woman’s skin. NEVER ever purchase a man’s razor, because it’s cheap. The man’s razor is harder in built and can leave bruises and cuts if used on your delicate skin. 2. It is always advisable to invest in a re-usable razor, which comes with detachable razor blades. But if you are first time user and would just like to give it a try, try out Gillette Venus’s disposable ones. 3. Don’t forget to purchase a shaving cream while you’re at it. It not only gives you an easier shaving experience, but it also leaves your skin feeling nourished and not ripped off its natural moisture post razor ritual. 4. Keep a towel to wipe your skin out post razor ritual. 5. Always use luke warm water to cleanse the skin afterwards. Harsh hot & cold water can damage the skin, since it takes a few minutes for it to close down its pores and come back to its natural shape. 6. DO NOT use your razor with anyone else. It is a matter of personal hygiene that can definitely not be taken lightly. About GILLETTE, the Brand I have …

Gillette Venus Myth Busted Vol. 2

October 20, 2015
myth_gillette_kalapalette1

It’s been almost 3 weeks since I have started using Gillette Venus Razor. So far, so good. Why you ask? Well, because of the crazy deadlines and almost no time to invest in a salon day, this razor has become my saviour for hairless skin. Now with the festive season all lined up for the rest of month, it is becoming more and more difficult to take out some pampering time. And with the last league of summer slowly diminishing into a Fall fever, this is my last chance to wear sleeveless silhouettes before the time to ‘cover it all’ dives in. Coming back to my experience with razor, especially Gillette Venus Razor in particular, the method has not only become very convenient for me to work with (thanks to its sensitive skin friendly make) but the usage has helped me burst many myths that usually surround this particular hygiene product. Myth : Razor Changes Skin and Hair Colour. Busted: This bizarre myth about the usage of razor and discolouration/change in colour of skin and hair has no scientific base at all. Razor, in anyway, does not effect the wellness of the skin and nor does it tweak the colour of the unwanted hair in any way. Their might be some chemical reactions if someone uses the local hair removal creams, but the same cannot be associated with Gillette Venus Razor, or any kind of razor for that matter. Experience I have now adapted The Gillette Satin Care shaving gel to my hair removal procedure. It is always advisable to use the steps of products of the same range of a brand, rather than mix-matching products depending on the likeability. Reason being that each product is chemically complimentary towards the other product, which results in achieving the best the range can …

Myths Ft. Gillette Venus #SubscribeToSmooth

Gillette Venus Razor Myths_Kalapalette

This article is about promoting razor as a convenient, hygienic and time-friendly way of removing unwanted hair. #SubscribeToSmooth campaign by Gillette Venus. It is truly said that you really shouldn’t judge something without at least giving it one try. Having been fed myths about skin razors and how this hair removal system can be harmful for both the skin and hair; I was a bit sceptic to try out the method in person. When I started using razors a couple of years back, I won’t deny the fact that some razors did end up giving me flaky skin and bruises that could have been avoided easy peasy otherwise. Having said that, I was still eager to try out Gillette Venus Razor for women and experience what it claims to be. Now, let me remind you, that Gillette Venus Razor for women is very different from the type of razors men usually use and has been uniquely designed keeping in mind the sensitive nature of a woman’s skin. Each Gillette Venus Razor comes with the following factors: Three blade system to provide finer razor experience in just 1-2 applications. Blades are sealed inside a protective cushion, allowing safer shaving experience. Curvy design of the razor blades makes shaving sensitive areas easier. Each razor head comes with an Aloe Vera + Vitamin E strip that only nourishes the skin, but also acts as an indicator. When you see that the strip has diminished it means that the razor blade needs replacement. The razor blade is disposable and can be replaced with another head, without having to buy an entire new razor handle every time. Now that we all know the exclusivity of Gillette Razors for women, it is time to bust a major myth that revolves around razor over waxing. Myth– Razors …

#SubscribeToSmooth Gillette Venus Challenge

Do you opt for waxing as your hair removal technique, or slide on a razor to get the job done in a quickie? Well, this method of removal of unwanted hair has been up as a debate for a long long time. While some vouch by the smooth and long-term experience of waxing, others swear by the easy & pain-less razor method for hair removal. I myself have been questioning the credibility of razor as hair removal for a long long time. It’s not only a pain-less way of removing hair, but is also cheaper and quicker method of doing it. Remember those constant trips to your local salon for a painful half-hour of waxing agony? Sure, the method provides a long-term freedom from unwanted hair and often removes dead skin; but boy the pain and time it consumes is just too much to take! And in today’s fast pace of life, you can’t really pack up a mobile waxing kit and try stripping the waxed patches while you’re on the go. What if you have a surprise date post work and you’re suppose to wear a midi dress, but have prickly hair growth on your legs? Of course the trip to the parlour is just not feasible. Which is when the mighty razor comes in handy. Even with the goodness of a razor’s feasibility comes in many claims that might make you think twice before shaving. Razored hair becomes thicker, razor harms the skin, etc. – their are plenty of notions around razor that are actually not true in the light, but yet get pointed out at, every time the word ‘razor for women’ gets called out! The team of Gillette Venus invited media and bloggers to have an open interaction about the same. Their expert panel of Aesthetic Physician Dr. …

Beauty : Sexy Back – A No Show!

January 27, 2013

‘I wish I had opted for my hair removal!’ ( by Gillette Satin Care way!) What is the biggest turn off? When you invest months of devoted time for that perfect one day, and everything just falls apart? Well I had such a moment which not only ruined a memorable day for me, but opened my eyes to avoid such disasters in future. WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED? It was my best friends wedding, the one with whom I had shared kindergarten, schooling and tuitions. We had done a lot of day dreaming during school life, giggling and excited to grow up to live up that moment! Being the bridesmaid I got myself a semi backless lehenga made. Did religious rounds of all the shopping hubs of Delhi to perfect the look in every possible manner. And the D Day arrived. Excited as I can get, could not wait to flaunt that “sexy back”, not to forget I sweated hard in Aerobics classes to get that perfect back! THE DISASTER REASON : I was all set when the biggest mistake of my life happened following this conversation I had with a mutual friend : Friend : So, you wearing a semi-backless lehenga to her wedding? Me : Yeah! *Doing a joyful dance in my head* Friend : Hope you have done the necessary to get that sexy back right! Me : Wdya mean? (puzzled me) Friend : Well you know, get a wax done to remove any hair followed by moisturizing massage. Me : OMG! I quickly called up my local boutique and got the appointment for a back waxing treatment. THE DISASTER! The painful procedure of removing hair by waxing was surely troublesome, but ANYTHING for that perfect look! In my quick decision consciousness I forgot that there is something called “patch test” before …
