What type of Bollywood mother you have?

May 8, 2016
blog

While everyone is busy posting Facebook updates with a photograph of them (being little or old) with their beloved mother, we thought of going overboard with the melodrama and give it a dash of Bollywood vibes. Now for those who’ve been following the Hindi Cinema saga for a really long time, this will come in as no surprise that the ‘Ma’ characters being played on the big screen are very much similar to our Desi Mother style! Their have been moments (while watching a Hindi flick) that we’ve felt a movie mother is an exact copy of our own dear mother. With shocking freaks of “Oh my god! My mom does just like that.” to the absolute nodding in agreement with “This is so true! She always scolds me like that.”; brown mothers are a true inspiration to the on-screen role playing mommas (Rosesh Sarabhai will agree). Enough of the blabbering already, we present to you a list of iconic Bollywood mothers who (we are pretty sure) are a carbon copy of how your mother in real life is like. Scroll through and tell us which Bollywood Mother is closest to your own MATAJI!? Durga Singh The mom who stays awake waiting for you to come back,  even when you are busy partying till 4 AM in the wee hours. Keep calm because, Mere Karan Arjun Ayenge! Nirmala Gupta Hitler of a Mother (Movie Khoobsurat) : The mom who runs a mini army cant in the house itself. She loves Apple Kheer, believes in the power of discipline and doesn’t let you finish that last slice of Pizza because, KAYEDA! Lajwanti The savoir mom, who covers up and cleans the mess you create. She doesn’t hesitate from fighting Papa bear if need be and always considers her laal as ‘Laakhon Mai Ek’. Nandini Raichand The melodramatic …

Why Bloggers Charge Money For Promotions

March 4, 2016
blog

I was actually going to do an OOTD post today, but the kind of incidents that we bloggers have been coming across lately had to be addressed urgently! First things first, a blogger is someone who writes journals (also known as blogs in digital world) to express their opinion on a certain topic. In earlier times, it was purely a journal based hobby, which as the world of web picked up, came in the parallel spotlight as well. Brands started associating with bloggers, asking them for their opinion about the brand’s services and goodwill. And those were the times when bloggers were obliged to give in their honest reviews. But in today’s time, doing reviews comes under the crucial radar of brands who prefer scanning the ‘drafts’, eliminating anything negative, highlighting the positives and only then paying the blogger to publish the content. But this post is not about the ‘Evolution of Blog’, but more about how bloggers are being exploited by Brands and Public Relations to get free promotions, shout outs and indirect marketing to benefit selves. So following are the 5 reasons why we bloggers CHARGE MONEY FOR PROMOTIONS. 1. We are not journalists who get fat cheques from publishing houses! This one really needs to be addressed out loud. Many PRs send across press releases, requesting us to ‘publish’ it on our esteemed ‘publications’. Sure, we do write ups, add critical comments and promote a brand on our social media like any print media; but we don’t have any publishing houses backing us to invest in our bank balances. 2. We don’t pay our bills with PRESS KITS! Unless, their is a parallel world where such barter deals really exist, our grocery guys, milk guy, electricity provider, water provider, tv cable provider, fashion store salesman and other …

Vlog Room Makeover – Nerolac Impressions

August 13, 2015
Header

There are so many things that go into building up a strong content. Minute details leave in a greater impact on the overall perspective. Confused? Let me put it down in a blogger’s verbals. Been having an itch to start up my own vlog for a very long time, I just couldn’t settle down with making videos because of one major issue – the set up. I thought investing in the right light and camera will do the trick, but it is much more to a video that one can anticipate. The background or video making set up is equally important in this video making business. Although I have two floors in my house, but couldn’t settle down with any corner of the house for video making purposes. Most of the walls in my house are cramped with décor or household utilities like Almirah, study table, etc. Even my own room has not even a single wall empty for the purpose. One of the living rooms of my house is less utilized, since my grandmom stays there; but is spacious enough to pan out videos and other photo features. Having found the right location to shoot (finally) I was still stuck with one issue – dull looking non-appealing walls! Decorated with antique woody furniture and un-justified curtain sets, I was not happy with having such a set up as my video background. Well, where there is a will there is a way! India’s top wall paint and décor brand ‘Nerolac Impressions’ in association with Blogadda took in the responsibility of painting my living room bright to serve the purposes. And thus began a 2 weeks assignment of giving the dull looking living room a makeover. Unstoppable by Delhi monsoon, the entire team of Nerolac was spot on with their services …
