Flipkart Big Billion Days – Experience

October 28, 2015
Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale

On the evening of 12th Oct, as I was on my way back home from an exhausting field trip getting any calls or messages was the last thing I wished for. Suddenly my phone vibrated and surprisingly I was overjoyed to see what it entailed. It was a reminder cum notification from my Flipkart mobile application about the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, which was to begin the next day! This was the second edition of last year’s Big Billion Day though spread over five days, this time starting the roller coaster ride from 13th Oct to 17th Oct 2015.   We all must agree that getting discounts is the prerogative of EVERY shopper like me. And this blockbuster of a sale offered incredible offers and discounts on over 70 product categories to us. I was so thrilled from the moment I had got the reminder that I forgot all about my day long fatigue and waited up till midnight for the sale to kick start, with my shopping-list in hand! This sale was restricted to Flipkart’s mobile application. It is a great app which makes it easy to maneuver here and there with one click, it is handy, it even offers an option to ‘shake’ the phone and interact with our peer in a separate box, yet I wish they had made the sale available on the website as well; maybe because I still love the mouse plus we can multitask and open as many tabs of different categories. But the discounts were amazing which made up for my grievances. I came across all the products that I was looking for carrying massive discounts. Not just for me, but there was a lot to gratify everyone as we could get everything under the sun here. Moreover, dates were earmarked …

My occupation as a wedding designer is not just confined to creating props and setting up mandaps for an event, there is a full story that revolves around it. Something that is close knitted to the lives of the bride and groom , something that forces me to completely engross myself in their lives for a minute and feel their hopes and aspirations of what they would expect from their wedding, so if I’m not creative enough to weave a simplistic story into a fairytale, then Id feel something is definitely missing from the experience I promised them. Also its something I love doing, something that keeps me on my toes and helps me entail a vision that helps me grow as a person each …

1970’s Inspired Summer Trends 2015

July 16, 2015
Marrakech_Maxis_Trend_Kalapalette

Many a trends keep resurfacing time and now on the fashion front. From seeking retro summer trends inspiration of a legendary fashion show or editorial spread to simply soaking up the tones of a historic design has become a norm of this industry. But then there are certain ‘evergreen trends’ then tend to repeat with decades passing by and still manage to become a rage even in the current world of vogue wherein being quirky and normcore are absolutely normal! This international Spring Summer Trends 2015 showcase too saw some nostalgic Déjà vu’s happening on the runway, for both men and women. While most of the designs followed the basics and a few presented art on the front, their were a few designers who adored the classic trends and made it a point to present them in futuristic silhouettes that the people of the current world can adore and wear. There is something about the 1970’s (wish I was born in that era *Sigh!*) that keeps resurfacing in terms of fashion picks on designers labels. Have actually lost count of the times when someone referred a particular silhouette or design to something that was introduced in and around the 1970’s timeline. Was that the time our fashion goddess came down on earth and sprinkled some modish inspiration on our lace & layered land? Maybe! 1970’s Marrakech Maxi Flows We just can’t do without having some free-flow silhouettes in our summer wardrobe. Which is why any trend that works around these almost-floor touching fabric arrangements are a win-win situation for us. And when someone amalgamates it with bohemian side of style, the wishlist scribbles topple down with these added as the top priority. Many designers internationally and even on Indian front have presented this earthy yet eye-catchy trend on the runways this year. From …

Noir Mode Sleek – Benetton Style

December 22, 2014

What are you planning to wear for the New Year’s eve party? The same old LBD or that shimmer sequence pallazo-crop top number? It all seems fair but only if we are talking about the parties down southern India and the likes. Because Delhi winters are in no mood of gifting us any relief from the chills.  As the NY15 is right round the corner, it will be a task to mix-match prints, colors and silhouettes on such a short notice. Your safest bet? Dig in the old ways! A.k.a. monochrome style. Nope, not talking about the LDB. Let’s stretch it up till the ankles and call dibs on a matchy white crop jacket, shall we? One of the most comfy yet classy outfits that I wore during the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Summer Spring 2015 (and planning to wear for the New Year’s too) was a solid combination of black & white. Take a look!  Earrings – Zotiqq How I wore it for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week? Monochromatic Affair with Calvin Klein Jeans India

May 10, 2013

Fashion industry is one place where you make rules to be not to be followed. A while back winters were all about warm, mundane and dark shades of black/grey/mustard and so on; while summers on the other hand was all about matching the sunlight. Bright colors, pastels, icecream shades, floral patterns, loose silhouettes and so on. But now it seems as if the industry has had a flip side. Now *Winter 2012* for instance, was all about pastels, neons, bright colors, large pattern blocks, oversized cardigans and wool taking inspiration from summer trends. On the other hand, Summer/Spring 2013 has turned out to be a serious amalgamation of Black and White. While some high street brands are swearing by the but-obvious summer trends, Calvin Klein Jeans has another haute story to tell…. Apart from the overdose of Neons, CKJ has revived the evergreen trend of Blacks & Whites. Check out a wide variety of casuals to some serious suiting up range from Calvin Klein’s Summer/Spring Collection 2013. When in doubt, wear black (and white). This combination not only makes you look slim, but if you pick up the right print and  cut, you just might look taller, sexier and hotter.                    If layering, don’t forget to keep a balance between solids, prints, shimmers and matte. Calvin Klein Jeans has a lot to play around with. Let this experimental monochrome collection  B&W which defines your personality.
