Bebe *Hollywood* Diva

June 25, 2013

Recently, I was invited by Bebe India for an oh-so-glamorous evening. Me and my fellow girls (Delhi Fashion Bloggers) enjoyed checking out the collection, deciding our mood board, dressing up accordingly AND getting a touch-up from Inglot team. Bebe which is pronounced as (Bee-Bee), was yet another brand for me, until I got a chance to check out their collection in person. They have amazing ball gowns, neon crop-tops, colorful and off-shoulder bustiers, sleek summer dresses, brilliantly flattering silhouettes and a wide collection to chose from. To make the experience more exciting, Bebe team installed a red carpet photo-booth, where we could get ourselves clicked. Psst… There is a competition running up on their page, if you have a minute to spare, kindly go HERE and *Like* my entry. Also *like* Bebe India HERE Supriya, Me, Aishwarya and Akshita  I loved this abstract print summer dress. This somehow brings up the memories of summer beach, waves and cool winds. I teamed it up with a denim jacket and gold chain to complete the look. Check out their colorful collection, and rest assured, that you will definitely end up buying stuff from the Bebe Collection.

PUMA El Rey Future – Review

May 31, 2013 gave me this amazing opportunity to own a pair of Puma El Rey shoes. I had always been into sports wear for two reasons, 1 being a basketball player AND 2nd, my foot size. When heels make a girl look sexy and feminine, a good pair of sports shoes makes a girl look hotter and smarter. Puma El Rey shoes are one of those uni-sexual creations that might just turn on your hip-hop side. When I wore them for the first time, I literally wanted to groove to a Jay Z track. The shoes : The best part about Puma El Rey shoes are that, they are very light weight, which makes it very comfortable for the wearer. Not only they are light, but the built it strong, which makes them wearable on a daily basis, all day all night. Since I received them in hot Delhi summers, I was wondering if I should wrap them up for winters, or try wearing them presently. Well I guess PUMA consists of Einsteins, because these shoes have perforated air circulation system, which let’s my feet breathe, even in this hot Delhi weather. Another added point to these Puma El Ray shoes is, that they are lace-less! You don’t need to worry about tying your laces all the time, which sucks for a person who is everyday on his/her heels, running errands and does not like dirtying the hands. The style : As far as the style is concerned, these shoes, apart from having a very sporty and stylish look, come in 3 types of color combinations. Grey-Black-White, Red-Black-White and Orange-Blue-White. I really wanted to lay my hands on the Orange-Blue-Whites, but was wondering if I will be able to wear them with maximum looks… so opted for the basic Red-Black-Blue color …

The Nerd in Vogue – courtesy American Swan

May 23, 2013

Recently I was introduced to the world of American Swan, India’s latest entry to premium global online fashion and lifestyle genre offering an exhaustive array of products that spans across categories such as apparel, footwear, accessories, beauty and home products. The brand combines classic, iconic American style with quintessential European fashion that is delivered to those who seek international standards beside up-to-the-minute fashion. Launched in January 2013, the brand  also retails other leading portals like Flipkart, Jabong, Pepperfry and Myntra. It has been getting overwhelming response from all quarters and has emerged as one the most inspirational yet affordable home grown brand in India. As a token of love, they sent across something from their SS’13 collection. What caught my eyes were the basic yet sophisticated apparels, which promote the western fashion culture in the right light. So, I thought of doing a little experiment on my sister, Anushri, and came up with this theme : The Nerd in Vogue Because now, *looking* nerd is also a la mode! The shirt is available here The bag is available here The look : A nerd is the one who does not worry about his/her hair, so a messy bun makes the overall look young and playful. Play with solid basic colors  team them up with simple heels, and a nude makeup to pump up the nerd look.. The shirt : Virginia V-Neck shirt is summer friendly, light cotton fabric, with a comfortable cut. The bag :  Newport Tote Bag is my personal favorite. I always carry huge bags to carry along my daily outing products, but the idea of a huge bag in SUMMERS is depressing. While this bag (I mostly use it without the sling) is super cool, crisp and does not become shapeless if stuffed, is easy to access and looks super stylish …

Monochromatic Affair with Calvin Klein Jeans India

May 10, 2013

Fashion industry is one place where you make rules to be not to be followed. A while back winters were all about warm, mundane and dark shades of black/grey/mustard and so on; while summers on the other hand was all about matching the sunlight. Bright colors, pastels, icecream shades, floral patterns, loose silhouettes and so on. But now it seems as if the industry has had a flip side. Now *Winter 2012* for instance, was all about pastels, neons, bright colors, large pattern blocks, oversized cardigans and wool taking inspiration from summer trends. On the other hand, Summer/Spring 2013 has turned out to be a serious amalgamation of Black and White. While some high street brands are swearing by the but-obvious summer trends, Calvin Klein Jeans has another haute story to tell…. Apart from the overdose of Neons, CKJ has revived the evergreen trend of Blacks & Whites. Check out a wide variety of casuals to some serious suiting up range from Calvin Klein’s Summer/Spring Collection 2013. When in doubt, wear black (and white). This combination not only makes you look slim, but if you pick up the right print and  cut, you just might look taller, sexier and hotter.                    If layering, don’t forget to keep a balance between solids, prints, shimmers and matte. Calvin Klein Jeans has a lot to play around with. Let this experimental monochrome collection  B&W which defines your personality. Check out the mini video showcasing the MONOCHROME AFFAIR I personally loved the collection as currently Neons and Ombre have taken the fashion industry by storm. This collection proved to be refreshing, reviving and ravishing! Check out the Calvin Klein Jeans Connection Facebook Website Store : Shop No 38, G F Select City Walk,  Plot No A-3, P-1b District …

French Connection India SS’13

April 18, 2013

As a lot of high street brands and even designers are exaggerating the b&w stripes trend, French Connection India is one label which is focusing on the perfect silhouette and celebrating femininity to the fullest. Following the French Connection India’s last few trends I was actually impressed seeing a whole new lot, with very rare sight of repeats from the last collection. A couple of days back I was invited over to review their SS’13 collection. To make it a whole new experience I came up with 3 different day to night looks from their latest SS’13 collection. Check out the crazy video RashNair shot during my review : DAY to NIGHT  3 looks & 1 collection LOOK 1 – Semi-Formals LOOK 2 – Casuals LOOK 3- Casuals French Connection has always been a one stop solution for various moods of styling. Not just the styling part, but they have various color palettes, prints and cuts to suit every mood. The most eye catchy part were the color blocked garments, crochet and neon. Will I check out French Connection India again? Of course. Every season! 😉 You can now shop online at :

India International Jewellery Week Dairy – Day 2

April 15, 2013

Day 2 of IIJW saw an extravaganza of Bollywood glitter. Starstruck attendees had a lot to talk about by the end of the day. Renowned jewellery houses and designers showcased dazzling adornments, some took inspiration from the rich heritage of North India, while a lot of the shows celebrated womanhood and it’s importance.  Although I personally was a little disappointed when it comes to the collection showcased, we got to see the same old Rani Haar, Polki/Kundan raw-cut designs, temple jewellery and lots of precious and semi-precious stones. However the 2 day affair was executed with perfection, with shows running on time and lots of in-between time for us to relax/write-reports/catch up with fellow journalists.

Styling : MAX Fashion Styling Project

March 28, 2013

New project and some new creativity. For the last couple of days I was in a dilemma as to how infuse Fashion and Art in the best possible manner. Here is an attempt to bring about something out of the box. Would love your comments on the same. ^_^ Photography by : RashNair Photography My main purpose of visiting Max Fashion store was to study the shopping patterns of the people. I was under an impression that people go out to shop with no definite motive behind it, but was surprised to know that people have not only become smarter but have also become fashion conscious  Most of them knew what they wanted, or had an occasion in mind to shop for. While some picked up random garments as per their liking, some actually spent 2 hours on an average to mix and match and create outfits. So proud of our fashionable Delhiites! 😉

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week AW’13 – Day 5

March 23, 2013

As the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week AW’13-14 concluded, the paparazzi chase grew stronger, and the shows got bigger. Back Lovers Anonymous – is a dark collection with accents. Surfacing from the underground, the collection lifts from the intersecting lines of fringe players, hustlers and lively lowlifes in a non linear narrative, black comic style. Black on black texturing matt and shine, with accents of white and color come together to form fitted and over-sized silhouettes. My Favorite :  The color blocked ombre effect. Simple silhouettes, basic hues of red and pink and basic ethnic cuts. The simplicity of the ensembles was soothing to the eyes, yet they preserved a glamor quotient. My Favorite :  The solid colors and simple ethnic wear. Mildly eccentric and slightly magpie, the collection this season has been all about mixing and matching – off separate teaming, off-color pairings and a luxe careless feel, retaining the “handcrafted” essence of the label. Detailed block and screen prints in muted yet vibrant colors are complimented by graphic, crafty textures and embroideries, somewhat leaning towards a tribal – folk aesthetic. My Favorite :  The layering of prints, texture and separates which added a dramatic flair. Mood Swings – The collection is inspired by works of Picasso’s paintings for the three art movements – Rose period, Blue period and Cubist war period and their three protagonist colors. Instilled on a backdrop of ecru the color blocking captures the enamored soul of the artist ‘Pablo Picasso’. My Favorite :  The use of intricate embroidery of a plethora of shapes in indigenous techniques, cosmopolitan and opulent look and combination of strong emotions and history. Mekhla – The Mekhla is a concert of three pieces of cloth – a skirt like a sarong, a blouse and an additional piece of cloth draped …
