CookieMan Australian Cookies – Food Review

January 14, 2014

Ever since as a child I have stepped into the Center Stage Mall, Noida; the aroma of freshly baked cookies has been welcoming and quite tempting. Presenting to you, the Cookieman – Fresh baked Australian Cookies. About Cookieman Cookie Man is easily recognized by its distinctive, bright decor and the unique traveling oven, which bakes fresh, mouth-watering cookies synonymous with the Cookie Man trademark. From its humble beginnings over forty years ago with just one type of cookie, Cookie Man has expanded rapidly in key markets across the globe. Today, Cookie Man boasts of over 40 fresh-baked cookie varieties, 20 varieties of cream-filled and chocolate-coated cookie products, sweet and savory patisserie lines and the recently introduced coffee and cold drinks. This is coupled with an eye-catching gift range, which is also available at all Cookie Man shops. The History Kevin Hicks, started out by selling his Grandma’s fresh-baked cookies door-to-door. The overwhelming response he received encouraged him to open the first Cookie Man store in Melbourne in 1958. The business proved to be extremely successful and Kevin went on to develop a proprietary patented oven that allowed him to bake large quantities of his home-style cookies right in the shop, to meet the growing demand of Australian cookie lovers. He built a successful retail formula that has seen Cookie Man become the cookie of choice across Australia and enabled a global expansion. Their first retail cookie shop which opened in Australia in 1958 at a prime location – the Myer department store in the city of Melbourne. Christmas 2013 Lunch at The Rodeo’s – FOOD Review

January 13, 2014

Christmas is that time of the year, when all we want to do is have a hearty meal and a hearty laugh. Every year chefs across the globe prepare special menus, some traditional and some innovative, but all served with warmth and love. Tagging along in the festive spirit, me and my team bid adieu 2013 with a Mexican Christmas spread. Situated amidst the hustle bustle of the Connaught circle, this place promises to transport you to a Mexican hub. Wooden flooring, saddle chairs, country music, warm ambiance and an equally warm staff. Oh! Did I tell you that the staff dresses up like cowboys? Yeah, with those leather boots and Stetson hats. Taco dips Chicken Tikkas Freshly baked Nachos with kitchen grounded Salsa Crisp toast basket  Live pasta counter Roasted turkey with cranberry sauce Although this place serves liquor, but this place is family friendly too. In fact, during my own visit I saw a whole bunch of kids celebrating their friend’s birthday, an elderly couple relishing the Christmas buffet, to a semi – goth youngster enjoying a beer. This place welcomes all!  Strawberry Mousse Plum pudding with custard sauce   Lemon Tarts Apple Crumble The Christmas buffet was again custom designed to please the Indian platter. What I really liked about the platter was that, it was a well thought combination of Mexican, Continental and Indian cuisines; perfected for the occasion. My Verdict : Ambiance : 4.5/5 Food : 4/5 Service : 4.5/5 Value for Money : 3.5/5 Check them out : Rodeo A 12, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi

Ahoy! Asia the Opera style

December 5, 2013

Last weekend, I was invited to *discover* something with Opera. The idea was to bring all the food lovers (bloggers) together, under the bamboo loaded roof of this newly opened restaurant called Ahoy!Asia, and let our taste buds explore the various flavors that our continent has to offer. The initiative was a joint genius of Opera India and Ahoy!Asia. GUESS WHAT & WHERE? The event started off with some delicacies presented in front of us. We were asked to guess the ingredients of the 1st dish, and the cuisines to which the latter belonged to. The dishes consisted of Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Malaysian cuisine. I apologies for my negligence, as I was so busy relishing the delicacies that I forgot to save down the names of these. #DiscoverWithOpera The fun was taken to a more interesting level with an amazing oriental lunch menu presented in front of us, with a little tete-e-tete with Opera geniuses. Press Release : Along the “discover” theme, Opera Software organized a #DiscoverWithOpera food bloggers meet-up, inviting some of the Delhi’s top food bloggers at Ahoy!Asia, one of the Delhi’s brand-new Oriental restaurants. Talking about Opera’s “Discover” feature, Sunil also added, “Opera gives an opportunity to users to get hot, new content with no browsing necessary, thanks to the new ‘Discover’ feature available on Opera for Android and Opera for Windows & Mac. “The feature allows you to lean back and familiarize with new articles from your country, or whatever region you want to get inspiration from, right in your browser – all in one place. Lifestyle : The [V] Spot Cafe

February 12, 2013

I am a shameless foodie. Period! Many girls swear by weird diet plans, while I swear by being merry! So when I saw Blogadda’s offer of reviewing “The [V] Spot Cafe + Bar”, I hit the APPLY button on the blink of my eyes…. *pure evil* So I visited their Saket, Delhi outlet last Friday night with my folks. Oh Boy! I miss those quirky [V] moments from the television. But it all came back to me when I stepped into this fun Cafe + Bar. A warm welcome from The [V] Spot Cafe + Bar team seemed promising (and it was!). Doing an investigation before hand (Yes I am 007!) about other review experiences, I came to know that at a time you can only redeem one voucher (per table rule). Flipping my hair with a *clever grin* I suggested that me and my folks occupy two tables and we get to redeem the two vouchers of R.s.2000/- which I received from… MISSION POSSIBLE! (Bwahahahahaha) Being pure non-vegetarians we didn’t want to waste our time on souplings (weaklings) and ordered starters. Check out our menu and experience through mouth watering images!! Mamma Mia : Hugely popular Italian chicken snack, dredged in secret flour and fried to golden perfection. Highly recommend for chicken lovers. It does remind you of KFC but trust me… this is way better than KFC chicken when it comes to quality.  Piri Piri Pizza and Butter Chicken Pizza: Italian thin crust pizzas with very interesting Indian toppings. For those who can have Butter chicken everywhere and anywhere, try the Butter Chicken Pizza. Piri Piri Pizza on the other hand could not provoke my taste buds. There was nothing piri piri about it. Chikibum bum : Spinach and cheese stuffed chicken with mushroom cream sause and fresh pasta. Called the speciality of this …
