Knits Love : French Connection AW’14 Collection

November 13, 2014

That time of the year when your ‘Eau De Parfum’ will be replaced by dollops of ‘Body Butter’. True story, but it’s just not the grease for the skin, but something to keep the skin warm too that’ll save us from the harsh winters. Talk about staying warm and staying stylish too, we have French Connection making sure that all stays in vogue this Autumn Winter’14. This season they are spreading some old-school ‘Knit Love’.  From printed jumpers, cropped party cardigans to wool-blend Vhari knits and embellished woolens; French Connection has taken the knit-wear to a whole new level. Check out some of the knits that I personally loved trying out.  Glitter Jitter Knits Cool and casual with a touch of sparkle, this Glitter Jitter Knit offers a glam alternative for cool winter evenings. Embelished jumper Cotton-wool blend long sleeves with round neck.  Stingray Sparkle Forget about solid colors, the new season is all about printed knits and this jumper’s abstract knit fits the bill perfectly.   Autumn Vhari Dress smart for cooler climes without Autumn Vhari Knit. Pair with printed leggings and a clutch for the day. Velma Knits The slouchy jumper gets a glamorous revamp, thanks to an eye-catching faux pearl trim. Wear Velma with boyfriend jeans for luxe downtime dressing. Doe Deer Throw the wool-blend Doe Deer jumper on with jeans for a casual and cosy cold-weather look. Not just knits, but French Connection’s AW’14 also showcases an array of Jackets & Coats. WOMEN’S WEAR The Autumn Winter 2014 collection looks towards Eastern influences depicting the contrast in Russian wealth, the grandeur of the Tsar regime set against the bleak landscapes of Siberia. A rich colour palette of dove grey, celestial blue and berry punch dominate the collection, modernized through paisley and digitized floral prints and adapted on …

Print 2.0 – The French Connection India Way {Collection Review}

July 1, 2014

Mix matching colors, fabrics and playing fusion with silhouettes is a common story. But what becomes experimental is when you try to throw a print on another print. Yes, I am talking about the crazy amalgamation of say, Houndstooth over Gingham print. How’s that for an inspiration? Having been following up on French Connection India collection for over 3 years now, I had to checkout their SS’14 collection too. Although, a little late from the general standards of featuring an SS’13 collection (now that the monsoon is coming), I had to share what I found in French Connection India’s SS’14 collection. Being an international brand, French Connection makes sure to include the current trend in their collection, like always! Just like last year’s SS’13 collection saw lots of neon and solid palette love, this year adapted the international runway trend of Print on Print. Not just prints, but French Connection has showcased a line of breezy summer fabrics, quirky prints and a dash of glitter too. Take a look at the collection! With a collection so artistic, I had to create a few looks with em! So much to choose, experiment and mix-match with, I had a great time putting up the following 4 looks for all my readers. Check them out. Print on Print Rules 1. Always match the solid tones of two prints. Eg. A black print on white solid base will always go with a white print on a black solid base. 2. Neutral print goes with a colorful print. 3. Mix prints in similar color family. 4. Same patter can be matched in different scales/print sizes. 5. Add a solid element to break up the prints. Now that you have enough reasons to try out this fun trend, go ahead and visit your nearest French Connection …

French Connection India SS’13

April 18, 2013

As a lot of high street brands and even designers are exaggerating the b&w stripes trend, French Connection India is one label which is focusing on the perfect silhouette and celebrating femininity to the fullest. Following the French Connection India’s last few trends I was actually impressed seeing a whole new lot, with very rare sight of repeats from the last collection. A couple of days back I was invited over to review their SS’13 collection. To make it a whole new experience I came up with 3 different day to night looks from their latest SS’13 collection. Check out the crazy video RashNair shot during my review : DAY to NIGHT  3 looks & 1 collection LOOK 1 – Semi-Formals LOOK 2 – Casuals LOOK 3- Casuals French Connection has always been a one stop solution for various moods of styling. Not just the styling part, but they have various color palettes, prints and cuts to suit every mood. The most eye catchy part were the color blocked garments, crochet and neon. Will I check out French Connection India again? Of course. Every season! 😉 You can now shop online at : FrenchConnection.in

Styling – French Connection goes Monochrome

December 12, 2012

Autumn Winter 2012 (AW’12) This year is all about bright colours, shimmer, embellishments, faux fur and lots of laces and crochet. Don’t be surprised as the above mentioned are just few from the list of AW’12 Trends on both national and international grid. Working as an Assistant Stylist with Vogue’s Style Guru “Aaditya Walia” has helped me do my homework right! And to present the worthy efforts right, I have come up with Autumn Winter Shoot Series all this season. Shot by my professional photographer and friend Rashmi Nair from RashNair, I present to you the 1st shoot from AW Shoot Series. Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. – Coco Chanel AW Shoot 1 – French Connection goes Monochrome Ensemble White Crochet Dress : French Connection Narnia Fur Gilet : French Connection Lunar Glimpse Studded Clutch : French Connection Black wrap around : D.I.Y.
