Zotiqq Subscription Box Review (August)

August 23, 2015

Lately, I have been investing in a lot of jewellery. Mostly eyeing on what’s on discount, I’ve been wandering on e-commerce webbies and surfing through the fashion streets of Delhi. For some this might seem like an easy-peasy, but collecting the right accessories that will please your personal style and will be up with the current trends is a cray task. Not to forget the array of baubles collection we review on a long panel and get confused as what to try and what to buy. Zotiqq doing everything *exotic* has ventured into easing out this dilemma for us. Not only are they pulling out best of their jewels to fit the monthly trends, but are also offering a subscription box which is loaded with jewels worth double the amount of what you are paying! Check out their entire range of subscription boxes, which have been designed to please the new-customers as well as their regular fans. – Zotiqq Subscription Box Link If you remember, I introduced Zotiqq on my blog with a few details about what kind of jewellery they offer. If you haven’t, go check it out HERE. This time around, I am featuring their ‘Fashionista Box’ which comes with a bonus voucher of Four Fountain Spa. Yay! Fell in love with these chandelier earrings the moment I unwrapped my subs box. These are not only apt to brighten up even a simple black dress, but their light weight makes it more wearable for longer hours. I am absolutely floored by the beauty of these and am loving wearing them for both regular parties and traditional gatherings. This necklace is a pure pastel bliss. The subtle hues of pink all over makes it the perfect party-mood statement piece. Wear it with a regular dress or tuck it in under your …

Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Haircolour

July 28, 2015

Why Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème Haircolour? First visible signs of ageing include graying of hair. While for decades that has been the norm, in recent years the graying of hair has developed in younger generation too. Thanks to the polluted environment that we live in now, colouring hair has become more of a necessity, than just adding some extra shades to your tresses. I have seen my girlfriends making monthly appointments to their hair stylists for retouching their pre-matured grey hair. If that dilemma was not enough, then come the after effects of brushing up chemicals on your natural hair. Hair fall, weak strands, dandruff, itchy scalp and what not. In short, grey hair only signals towards the downfall of the quality of hair.

1970’s Inspired Summer Trends 2015

July 16, 2015

Many a trends keep resurfacing time and now on the fashion front. From seeking retro summer trends inspiration of a legendary fashion show or editorial spread to simply soaking up the tones of a historic design has become a norm of this industry. But then there are certain ‘evergreen trends’ then tend to repeat with decades passing by and still manage to become a rage even in the current world of vogue wherein being quirky and normcore are absolutely normal! This international Spring Summer Trends 2015 showcase too saw some nostalgic Déjà vu’s happening on the runway, for both men and women. While most of the designs followed the basics and a few presented art on the front, their were a few designers who adored the classic trends and made it a point to present them in futuristic silhouettes that the people of the current world can adore and wear. There is something about the 1970’s (wish I was born in that era *Sigh!*) that keeps resurfacing in terms of fashion picks on designers labels. Have actually lost count of the times when someone referred a particular silhouette or design to something that was introduced in and around the 1970’s timeline. Was that the time our fashion goddess came down on earth and sprinkled some modish inspiration on our lace & layered land? Maybe! 1970’s Marrakech Maxi Flows We just can’t do without having some free-flow silhouettes in our summer wardrobe. Which is why any trend that works around these almost-floor touching fabric arrangements are a win-win situation for us. And when someone amalgamates it with bohemian side of style, the wishlist scribbles topple down with these added as the top priority. Many designers internationally and even on Indian front have presented this earthy yet eye-catchy trend on the runways this year. From …

Every Woman Is A Leader!

April 15, 2015

Anna Wintour – Vogue America, Editor in Chief Photo source : fashionfoodies Like every other sphere women have not had it easy and had to fight to prove their mettle in the male-dominated world. It is interesting to note the kinds of professions that are earmarked for women by the wise society members – some opine how “teaching is the perfect profession for women”, ”the natural nurturing nature of women makes them suitable for nursing”, “it is hard to imagine a woman-surgeon”. Moreover even more mind-boggling are the stereotypical characteristics assigned to women employees -“she cannot be independent, decisive, and assertive“, “unmarried women are preferred for jobs as once they have kids they get deviated from work”. In short, stereotypes continue to exist. Not only is it hard for females to enter a work field but even when they have established themselves they are supposed to put up with unusual expectations in performance and required to prove their worth time and again. Usually women are denied top jobs due to the perceived lack of competency. Seems like enough has been said though I have not even yet spoken about the harassment that women have to deal with in their workplace! Indra Nooyi – CEO, PepsiCo Photo source : businessinsider So what is the recipe to make lives a tad less difficult for women who juggle up responsibilities of official work as well as the duties of a homemaker? Shall we give them reservations? Maybe they would be happier with lesser workload? Perhaps sympathizing with them would work? Sadly none of this would work because what women want is easier than this – respect and recognition as equal employees. Women wish to be known by their work and not by the socially constructed notion of their gender identity. We need revolutions …

Rohit Bal : Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week – Spring Summer ’15

October 26, 2014

The grand finale of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was no less than a Mughal – carnival in itself. Before I take you through my photo – gallery, wanted to share a big woot with you.  One of my photographs that I took of Arjun Rampal (Rohit Bal’s show stopper for the finale) got retweeted by none other than the actor himself and has received more than 35,000+ hits till now.  About the Collection The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Rohit Bal concluded the Spring Summer 2015 edition of India’s premiere fashion & trade event – Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. It was a magical evening as        Quli Khan’s Tomb with Qutub Minar as its backdrop came alive with this magnificent show. Rohit Bal’s ‘GULBAGH’, inspired by the rich and lush Mughal Gardens of Kashmir, is a tribute to the God-gifted and unparalleled beauty of the valley. Mesmerizing the audience, through a visual and musical spectacle, the event recreated the erstwhile court of the Mughals through flowers and live music. With guests entering to live sufi music, the show began with the resounding voice of the internationally acclaimed doyen of Indian classical music – Shubha Mudgal. While she sang, the models walked the ramp, adorned with flowers.   Arjun Rampal Christian Louboutin Follow Me Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Youtube | Pinterest

A Zotiqq Jewellery Experience

August 23, 2014

Jewellery can either make or break your style. Accessorize it right and even a pair of basic denims and plain tank will upgrade to a runway-style #OOTD. I am a jewelry junkie. Why I call myself a junkie? Well, because everytime I step out for shopping, no matter what; I always end up adding more jewels to my already flooding jewelry collection. Not to forget all those times when my mom has scolded me for buying some more of the junk I already have. You see, clothes can be worn out, but jewelry stays forever. Don’t remember how many times I have been complimented for wearing a particular jewel rather than a particular apparel! Now that I have made my point, let me introduce you to one such hub of artificial jewels that range between vintage, classic to cocktail styles. Presenting to you Zotiqq.com – the venture by my dear friend and blogger Ritu Rajput of The Indian Beauty Blog. The first time she introduced me to her expansive jewellery collection, I was literally blingstruck! And when she asked me if I would like to feature some of the products on #Kalapalette, it was a straight away yes (tee hee) from me. Combination Rings Set Taking up the midi-rings trend that has been trending since a while now, I had to invest in a few combos from Zotiqq. They are gold, they are classy and they are frigging adjustable. One issue that I have faced earlier with rings is that they can’t be customised for your finger width. But Zotiqq offers that option. Shop it HERE The Disc Man Necklace The next on my list was this vintage coins necklace. I have seen plenty of such coins necklaces with various other labels, but somehow they just don’t fancy me much. But this one stood out from …

Iraya – A 100% Natural Story {Beauty}

April 30, 2014

When we talk about going all Ayurveda, being close to nature and only applying *natural products*, do we really mean it? Of course, apart from the usual home packs that we create, or in my, what my grand mother suggests as being ‘organic’; the products that we buy in plastic bottles… are they really natural? You might want to do a background check on that jar of bottle again! Unlike other Indian brands that claim to be natural, but are in someway or the other chemically enhanced; Iraya is one such stand alone brand which really means what they claim to provide. I was recently invited to check out their Delhi store, which is located at The Promenade, Vasant Kunj. Right now as I am scribbling my blog about it, I am wearing one of their 100% natural face pack that needs to be refrigerated at all times. Not only it soothes out all the skin burns exposed throughout the day, it guarantees to leave behind a lightly moisturized skin (thank god for that!), that does not cry out for another dose of moisturization right after the application. These masks are made from finest natural sources including freshest flowers, freshest fruits and vegetables all mixed with absorbent clays for deep cleansing, toning and to rejuvenate the skin. Sweep away the dull and tired skin this summers as Iraya’s Fresh Masks reveal your brighter and smoother complexion. These perfectly blended fresh masks incorporate unique textures and colors, that need to be refrigerated and has expiry date of 2 weeks. About IRAYA The Iraya brand of beauty and wellness products was launched in 2006 by Sadatan Pure Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd. Sadatan has been manufacturing and exporting beauty and wellness products for over 20 years in highly evolved beauty markets like France, Italy, Russia …
