Why Bloggers Charge Money For Promotions

I was actually going to do an OOTD post today, but the kind of incidents that we bloggers have been coming across lately had to be addressed urgently! First things first, a blogger is someone who writes journals (also known as blogs in digital world) to express their opinion on a certain topic. In earlier times, it was purely a journal based hobby, which as the world of web picked up, came in the parallel spotlight as well. Brands started associating with bloggers, asking them for their opinion about the brand’s services and goodwill. And those were the times when bloggers were obliged to give in their honest reviews. But in today’s time, doing reviews comes under the crucial radar of brands who prefer scanning the ‘drafts’, eliminating anything negative, highlighting the positives and only then paying the blogger to publish the content. But this post is not about the ‘Evolution of Blog’, but more about how bloggers are being exploited by Brands and Public Relations to get free promotions, shout outs and indirect marketing to benefit selves. So following are the 5 reasons why we bloggers CHARGE MONEY FOR PROMOTIONS. 1. We are not journalists who get fat cheques from publishing houses! This one really needs to be addressed out loud. Many PRs send across press releases, requesting us to ‘publish’ it on our esteemed ‘publications’. Sure, we do write ups, add critical comments and promote a brand on our social media like any print media; but we don’t have any publishing houses backing us to invest in our bank balances. 2. Flipkart – Way To 4G Smartphones

Seeing how I struggled with my outdated 3G canvas phone, my younger sister convinced me to get a new one promising a smoother and faster experience. The younger generation is definitely more inclined and quick to catch up with the newest technology faster than us. But I am also ever keen to keep up. It was time to start my big search right away. I spent an entire evening reading reviews of phones and comparing them on different portals. It is amazing to see the pace at which technologies are advancing. What is released today becomes passé by the next month. Of all the new advancements, I gathered that 4G connectivity is the true hero of all the claims made by mobile makers! Being a social buzz-maker who is always on her toes, I felt a magnetic pull towards claims like ‘super fast streaming, uploading, and downloading’ among others! I am not able to get Wifi everywhere especially with a consistent speed and access. Thus I have no other option but to rely on my mobile phone’s internet connectivity when I am venturing al fresco. I wondered what this high-speed hullabaloo was all about. I had been using 3G for some time, and I was pretty satisfied with it as it was way better than 2G! To think of something beating the 3G speed was what got me interested in it I logged into Flipkart where choosing the best phone from thousands, gets easier and less time consuming with Filters. I refined my search with filters like price range, brand, SIM type, clock speed, primary and secondary camera and of course, connectivity. Royal Enfield : Riders on the Storm (OOTD)

We girls are often pictured in pretty pink toned feminine silhouettes. So much so that the very idea of being edgy mostly falls appalled by the society. But in this world of being at the forefront, baring yourself to the rough wind and walking driving down the raw paths is what keeps us all going. Royal Enfield recently launched first of its kind gear & wear store at Khan Market, Delhi. Just like any other blogger launch event, I went to check out the collection. Wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the collection so much, that a mere conversation with their team member Radhika and an exceptional idea of doing a feature will prosper into this immensely victorious OOTD feature. Take a look! Psst.. the braids just happened to be by accident. I had roughly braided up to get frizzy hair at the time of the shoot, but everyone insisted that I keep the braids on as it brought out the more raw look to my attire. Noir Mode Sleek – Benetton Style
