OOTD : Color Party Semi-Formal Look

April 17, 2015

While mix-matching your outfit in the right modish manner matters a lot, some add-on elements of  style equally put in the extra punch to bring an OOTD to life. Be it for a day to day wear or some selective date-meets, elements as basic as a bag need special attention. While somehow we still neglect these important accessories and then quite wonder what went wrong! Imagine your work wear consists of a mundane white blouse – denim jeans combo and you yet try to achieve some kind of style? How about we add on a flattering sling bag or laptop bag to go with it? Toss those boring black laptop sleeves and give it a quirky uplift. Of course, for a daily work wear routine we need to maintain a sense of sophistication and professionalism. In such scenarios, the likes of Holii brands come in handy (and vogue)! For a blogger’s profile, their ain’t no boundaries on a meeting dress-code, but surely we need to play by the professionalism rules; and yet maintain our ‘fashionable’ image in front of the world. Always juggling between a hand bag to a sling to a clutch, I am quite not able to commit on one bag to go with at the meetings. So this post is dedicated to that one style of bag, that’s all what we need, to keep it stylish and yet formal. Presenting to you, the Holii Laptop Bag. SUMMER TEMPTATIONS Climb the fashion ladder a little higher this summer with an exclusive style statement with the new Holii bags! Rohit Bal : Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week – Spring Summer ’15

October 26, 2014

The grand finale of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was no less than a Mughal – carnival in itself. Before I take you through my photo – gallery, wanted to share a big woot with you.  One of my photographs that I took of Arjun Rampal (Rohit Bal’s show stopper for the finale) got retweeted by none other than the actor himself and has received more than 35,000+ hits till now.  About the Collection The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Rohit Bal concluded the Spring Summer 2015 edition of India’s premiere fashion & trade event – Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. It was a magical evening as        Quli Khan’s Tomb with Qutub Minar as its backdrop came alive with this magnificent show. Rohit Bal’s ‘GULBAGH’, inspired by the rich and lush Mughal Gardens of Kashmir, is a tribute to the God-gifted and unparalleled beauty of the valley. Mesmerizing the audience, through a visual and musical spectacle, the event recreated the erstwhile court of the Mughals through flowers and live music. With guests entering to live sufi music, the show began with the resounding voice of the internationally acclaimed doyen of Indian classical music – Shubha Mudgal. While she sang, the models walked the ramp, adorned with flowers.   Arjun Rampal Christian Louboutin Follow Me Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Youtube | Pinterest

Love for Lipsticks – Avon Ultra Color Lipsticks & Twitter Announcement

September 5, 2014

Before I share with you my ‘Love for Lipsticks’, here is a big shout-out to @AvonIndia for finally launching their official account on Twitter. Woot woot! And to share the excitement, @AvonIndia is hosting giveaways daily on their twitter account. What can you win? Avon hampers worth Rs.3,000/- every hour! Now who would want to miss on a chance like that? Follow @AvonIndia on twitter for all the updates. —————————————————————— Lipsticks are prolly one of the first ‘beauty tools’ that girls sneak out from their mother’s makeup kit and try their hands on. The first sign of being a girl – the first sign of feeling beautiful!  For those who get to the liking of something like lipsticks at an early age, know how to wear it for the rest of their lives. You give them any shade of a lip tint and they will for sure – rock it. Then their is a female lot like me, who can’t really get over being a girl and accept lipstick as something more than what mother’s wear for makeup. Long story short, this feature is all about trying experimenting with different shades of lipsticks that usually don’t even get considered pretty much. Usually, when a girl decides to buy lipsticks, her options only circle around the hues of red and pink. Not knowing that hues of brown, orange and even rum are totally rad for any occasion. And when the Avon birdies sent across a good stack of their Ultra Color Lipstick SPF 15 collection to me, I was in for a surprise treat! Quite lost about trying shades like Tangerine Tango and Rich Chocolate, I gave into this one with my fingers crossed. Results? I loved every single shade from this collection. Avon might be an international cosmetics brand. But they surely …

Grey Fashion Company – Online Shopping

July 13, 2014

Bling is everywhere! One of the major parts of styling up is coordinating the right accessories with your ensemble. While India has a major source of bling all around, we the young generation thrive on stocking up artificial jewels and western silhouettes a lot. If you are like me and surf up Facebook for shopping as well, then you know how big a selling market this social network has become. From cocktail dresses, heels to Korean made blings and baubles; the entire wardrobe can be shopped while posting a comment or liking a photograph. Now the big deal is ‘Which one of them are genuine’. I have had encounters wherein I purchased something considering the image that the retailers showcase but the actual product has differed drastically when received. Bummer, right? But then there are a few who actually deliver what they had promised at the time of placing the order. One such budding retailer and fashion enthusiast on the social market is Riya Khandelwal. Based in Mumbai (She ships the products pan India), she has a keen eye on picking up just the right accessories for her collection, keeping in mind the requirements of the Indian shopaholics. I can personally vouch for that because when I showed her collection to my photographer, Arusha Sharma, she was keen on ordering a few products right away. Riya Khandelwal runs a label called Grey Fashion Company. Keen on knowing the lady behind this amazing fashion store, we managed to strike an interview with her. Check it out : Riya Khandelwal Tell us about yourself. What is your personal style? I am a 20 something passionate doer of creative things who happens to have an eye for fashion. I am a graduate in business management and currently looking forward to pursuing my post-graduation. …

When the Autumn Falls!

November 15, 2013

Delhi (India), is slowly crawling it’s way to harsh yet dry winters. As the autumn gears up to say adieu, everything suddenly seems pale, powdered and warm. Balancing the act between this seasonal change, I present to you a look which has the overwhelmingly warm tones of autumn, and a much needed pop of color for those dry winters. The highlight of the look is the ‘Alice in Wonderland Necklace‘ from Juvalia & You. It is indeed mesmerizing. What I really liked about the necklace was the scheme of balanced colors, the well structured design and the *young woman* feeling that it gives out. Not to forget, this neckpiece does stand out in the crowd and I have received quite a number of compliments for that. Designers want me to dress like Spring, in billowing things. I don’t feel like Spring. I feel like a warm red Autumn. – Marilyn Monroe  I am also in love with this recently introduced (to me) brand called FACES. The color palette is apt for the Indian skin, and the lippies are oh-so-divine. I am wearing : No.75 – Ibiza – FACES Matte No.21 – Tuliptastic – FACES Ultra Moist Psst. If you are wondering where did I get that mirror from? Well, I DIYed it. If you wanna know the full details, let me know. 😉 What are the things that YOU change about self to welcome the new season? Would love to hear that. <3

Desi (Indian) Etiquettes, BIBA Style

October 22, 2013

Those who don’t know the current India scenario, well the festive and wedding season is in full norm. Every corner of India is glittering with enthusiasm, happiness and lot’s of colorful love. Celebrating this season, many apparel and accessory brands across the country are pushing their ‘Festive Range’. One such colorful brand is BIBA.  Located across various cities of India, this store has much more than the ‘ethnic wear’ to offer. Two days back I was invited to review the Festive Season 2013 collection from BIBA. A wide variety of ethnic wear, ranging from simple mix and match, to a goth inspired ‘Rockstar’ collection. The icing on the top, is the designer yet affordable collection from Rohit Bal for BIBA.  Choosing my favorite looks was the most difficult task, as the collection had so much to offer. Still, I managed to score three looks which will suit every ‘Desi Girl’! LOOK 1 : Simple and Chic This look is meant for those, who like it simple yet elegant. The idea is to infuse in the traditional hues of blue and red, with a simple silhouette, and nothing fancy. The only shine of the look is the golden block print and the Banarasi style border.  Tip : Team such a look with statement earrings, like I have adorned here. They not only keep the overall look festive and sober, but brings the right amount of drama required to justify the occassion. LOOK 2 : Shimmer Queen This look, from Rohit Bal for BIBA collection, is meant for those who love to live up the festive glitter. The right amount of shimmer print, infused in a sun-kissed orange semi-anarkali suit guarantees the spotlight on you. The bright contrast of this combination will make sure that you stand out in the crowd. Tip : Go …

Mustache ‘Not Just For The Boys’ – Outfit Post

September 12, 2013

I am so so sorry for being M.I.A. from this blogging world. Well, a lot has been brewing up lately, and I assure you that you all are going to love the outcome. Stay tuned for that! But for now, to get back on the blogging scenario, I was getting an itch to do an outfit post. Currently most of my days go out playing a *professional*. And by that I mean wearing a lot of (Semi) formal outfits. When it comes to dressing up seriously, people usually opt for a very boring color palette of muted shades of grey and monochromes. Well, the question is… how to break this mundane way of dressing? You can always opt for some pop of color in terms of a fancy scarf, or statement earrings or a sun-kissed handbag. Well, I tried thinking on the same lines and incorporated a combination of muted colors wedded to some serious bling. And by bling, I mean gold bling.  Keeping my quirky style up, and matching up to my professional field… I had to infuse in some *trend*. Since the last year or two, I have seen some serious involvement of the Owl print and the Mustache print! Thanks to Masaba, now we have the *lipstick* and camera print too. Since finding trendy accessories is a tough call, I thought of D.I.Y. – ing my own! My verdict (on semi – formal dressing) :  1. Keep it basic, but stylish. 2. If you don’t have a lady gaga moment, play on the lines of sober colors. (Something other than monochromes) 3. Keep your silhouette comfortable. Don’t let it loose and baggy, nor try to look seductive! 4. Play double safe with accessories which are pleasing in a concrete professional environment. Have you seen those cinema scenes, …
