September 13, 2012

Well its literally raining bridal trousseaus this year. Indian fashion industry is getting obsessed with the coming wedding season, and everyone is in the race of presenting their best creations. Yesterday I unvelied an absolutely amazing product launched by Lancôme called Absolue L’Extrait From today I bring to you the  AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK 2012 SERIES “DAY 1” THE MASTER COUTURE TARUN TAHILIANI OPENED  THE THIRD EDITION OF AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL FASHION WEEK 2012 WITH A DAZZLING COUTURE BRIDAL COLLECTION Known for his glamorous creations that have been seen in the wardrobes of top Indian and global celebs, Tarun Tahiliani, The Czar of Couture, dazzled the audience on the opening day of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012. The shop stopper was the very lovely Chitrangada Singh in a sensational ivory net lehenga, choli and dupatta creation splashed lavishly with crystals and sequins. He showcased this collection in his Bridal Exposition two months back HERE Tarun, whose creations have revived the beauty of India’s rich heritage, brought in his opulent touches for the bridal collection. Having created a sensation in the fashion capitals of the East and West, Tarun’s impeccable construction and craftsmanship were the cynosure of his collection. The very innovative U shaped 70 ft ramp was turned into a virtual Garden of Eden with foliage, creepers and greenery swirling down from the ceiling and around the stage. Clumps of delicate plants hung from the walls lit with tiny circular bulbs. Blue fairy lights twinkled around the ramp. As the lights dimmed, the lit bushes rose up to the ceiling to the strains of melodious music and the gentle voice of Sonam Kalra, the trained opera and Hindustani singer. Against a backdrop of painted temples and through the very earthy ambience with the audience sitting in the centre and around the amazing catwalk, …

4th Edition of Tarun Tahiliani Couture Exposition 2012

July 27, 2012

25th July, 2012, DLF Emporio, New Delhi was my ticket to Fashion Heaven!! It was the press release of TARUN TAHILIANI’S NEW BRIDAL COUTURE COLLECTION. From the venue to the innovative exposition design, everything was about “Fashion” and “Creative Minds”. This larger than life glass structure is a unique concept that has been brought to life by AIS Glasxperts, which is the only company in India having the expertise and technology to do so. It is also the first time any celebrity designer has chosen glass as a theme for showcasing his collection. The ‘Jewel Box’, a 14 feet high glass structure has been created using AIS Ecosense,  AIS  Clear  Tempered  Glass, AIS Securityglas, AIS Acousticglas, AIS unique  Integrated  Glass  Unit , AIS  VUE  windows, AIS  Décor  lacquered  glass and AIS  Mirror. Sixty of the finest pieces from Studio’s latest couture collection will be on display during this 4 – day exposition. Set against a cutting edge glass backdrop that creates a magical mix of tradition and modernity, the new couture collection is displayed in a novel contemporary setting, fabricated on-site specially by AIS Glasxperts with multiple glass technologies. “Bridal is about the bride. It shouldn’t be about trends. Women are still making polarized choices when it comes to couture, but clearly they must be true to who they really are”, says Tarun Tahiliani emphatically as he discloses nuances of his new collection.     For the bride, there are special key-hole jackets, coupled with lehengas in classic hues of deep red and gold; versatile, modern day anarkalis—in fresh citrus colors of mango and peach, with bodices plastered in a mesh of Swarovski Elements—with flowy, elegant drapes and deep scoop necklines, which can be paired with churidaars or worn as gowns.  For the groom an antique gold brocade sherwani with …

Wedding Innovations n Inspirations!

May 20, 2012

Well the WEDDING WEEK is on (although I really messed up the week) woops. But anyways, I wanted to bring up a post, where I will put my creative hat on, and provide you with 2 innovative ideas. Innovative ideas eh? Since wedding outfits are always the same. Kurtis, Lehengas or Sarees. And this mundane outfit ritual comes with a defined color code of pink, orange and red as well. I thought why not break this boring rule book, and spice up your outfits a little bit? I present to you 2 fusion outfits, which you can try on wearing this Wedding Season, and make those heads turn for sure. 😉 This look is comfortable, for a tiredsome wedding day, sexy, colorful and innovative 😀 Instead of the statement neckpiece you can even go for gold coins South Indian style belt worked up around your waist. I have paired gold nailpolish, as it will make your hands absolutely stand out.  Keep the outfit summer friendly, and you won;t be worrying about the air conditioner not working. 😉 Well if you still miss your traditional dress code and colors, I bring you the Saree + Peplum look. This look works pretty well if you want to keep it traditional yet innovative. You can drape the saree the way it is meant to be. Team the look with heavy Kundan or Uncut Diamond jewelry. When choosing the peplum, go for bright or neon colors, just like I used bright Fuchsia color, giving a neon effect. You can even add diamond or semi precious stone bangles for more bling. 😀 So girls, this is my innovative way of looking ultra-fashionable, trendy and unique this wedding season. If you want to make heads turn, try one of the looks P.s. Let me know which one will you prefer. …
